Preoperative protective stenting of the carotid artery in severe complex head and neck cancer resection.

Objective: To investigate effects of preoperative protective carotid artery (CA) stenting in complex head and neck cancer (HNC) resection.

Material And Methods: HNC that encases the CA is complex. Fifty-five patients diagnosed with complex HNC from 2018 to 2021 were enrolled, and were divided into Control group (general complex cases) and carotid artery stent (CAS) group (severe complex cases).

Comparison of efficiency and safety of open surgery, hybrid surgery and endovascular repair for the treatment of thoracoabdominal aneurysms: a systemic review and network meta-analysis.

Objective: The objective of this study was to perform a network meta-analysis (NMA) to assess the efficacy and safety of three different surgical interventions- open surgical repair (OSR), hybrid surgical repair (HSR), and endovascular repair (EVAR)- for the treatment of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs).

Methods: Electronic repositories like PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, the Cochrane library, Clinical trial, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) were systematically searched to identify studies that compared the efficacy of OSR, HSR, and EVAR with endografts for the treatment of TAAAs until December 24th, 2022. Random-effects and fixed-effects models were employed to analyze the data gathered in a network meta-analysis.

The impact of green technology innovation and firm default risk: benefit effect or risk effect?-evidence from the panel data on Chinese manufacturing firms.

In the context of China's strategic goal of carbon neutrality, the realization of green technology innovation to reduce the risk of manufacturing default will help promote the green transformation of firms and achieve high-quality economic development. The study explored the relationship between green technology innovation and default risk by taking the manufacturing industry of listed enterprises in China from 2001 to 2020 as research samples. The results showed that green technology innovation is negatively correlated with default risk.

Causal relationship between health insurance and overall health status of children: Insights from Pakistan.

Evaluating the impact of health insurance always remains a methodologically challenging endeavor due to the absence of sample randomization. This paper evaluates the impact of health insurance on the health status of children in Pakistan using the data of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) for Punjab, Pakistan, from 2017 to 2018. The study adopted the propensity score matching (PSM) method to address the sample selection bias.

[Clinical Analysis of Pediatric Acute Leukemia Complicated with Septic Shock].

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics of predictors in pediatric acute leukemia complicated with septic shock and explore the prognostic factors.

Methods: The clinical characteristics of 70 children with acute leukemia and complicated with septic shock hospitalized in Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital from March 2012 to March 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical characteristics of patients in survival group and death group were analyzed and compared.
