As the global population ages, the incidence of age-related musculoskeletal diseases continues to increase, driven by numerous complex and poorly understood factors. WNT-1 inducible secreted protein 1 (WISP-1), a secreted matrix protein, plays a critical role in the growth and development of the musculoskeletal system, including chondrogenesis, osteogenesis, and myogenesis. Numerous in vivo and in vitro studies have demonstrated that WISP-1 is significantly upregulated in age-related musculoskeletal conditions, such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and sarcopenia, suggesting its involvement in the pathogenesis of these diseases.

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of differentially expressed miR-8485 on chondrocyte inflammation in osteoarthritis (OA) and its underlying pathological mechanisms. MiR-8485, which was downregulated in OA, was identified by microarray analysis, and was also found to be decreased in IL-1β-induced C28/I2 cells. miR-8485 down-regulation or IL-1β treated of C28/I2 cells induces a decrease in cellular activity, an increase in apoptosis, an elevation in Cleaved caspase-3, MMP13, and ADAMTS5 protein levels, a decrease in Collagen II and Aggrecan levels, and an increase in the levels of pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α and IL-6.

To provide a theoretical basis for eliminating resonance and optimizing the design of viscoelastically supported bridges, this paper investigates the analytical solutions of train-induced vibrations in railway bridges with low-stiffness and high-damping rubber bearings. First, the shape function of the viscoelastic bearing reinforced concrete (RC) beam is derived for the dynamic response of the viscoelastic bearing RC beam subjected to a single moving load. Sarcopenia is an aging-related skeletal disease characterized by decreased muscle mass, strength, and physical function, severely affecting the quality of life (QoL) of the elderly population. Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), as a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent histone deacetylases, has been reported to participate in various aging-related signaling pathways and exert protective effect on many human diseases.
