Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the leading causes of death from malignancy in women and lacks safe and efficient treatment. The novel biomaterial, recombinant humanized collagen type III (rhCOLIII), has been reported to have various biological functions, but its role in OC is unclear. This study aimed to reveal the function and mechanism of action of rhCOLIII in OC.

Disruption of the extracellular matrix and dysregulation of the balance between Th17 and regulatory T cells are recognized as risk factors for recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA). However, the interaction between matrix components and the Th17/Treg axis remains poorly elucidated. The result of this study revealed that the absence of type I collagen in the decidua is linked to Th17/Treg imbalance in RSA.

Background: The nature of the relationship between red meat consumption and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) remains unclear. Through this meta-analysis, we aimed to determine the association and dose-response relationship between red meat consumption (both processed and unprocessed) and the risk of NAFLD.

Methods: We systematically searched CENTRAL, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Scopus from inception to February 2022 for observational studies in which the exposure of interest was red meat consumption; the outcome of interest was the risk of NAFLD; and where odds ratios (ORs) or risk ratios were provided or could be calculated.

Background: Health literacy measurement lays a solid foundation to identify associations with health outcomes and monitor population health literacy levels over time. In mainland China, most existing health literacy instruments are either knowledge-based or practice-based, making health literacy results incomparable between China and other countries. This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the 12-item Health Literacy Population Survey (HLS-Q12) in a general population of Chinese adults.

Purpose: This prospective study investigates the correlation between vaginal microecology and pregnancy outcomes and explores their impact on endometrial microbiota composition during frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Additionally, the impact of transvaginal Lactobacillus supplementation on reproductive outcomes in patients with previous failed cycles was assessed.

Methods: A total of 379 patients undergoing FET at a reproductive medicine center were categorized into clinical pregnancy (CP), miscarriage (MISC), and non-pregnant (NP) groups.

Radon exhalation rate from soil is a critical factor in evaluating environmental radon levels. However, AlphaGUARD PQ2000PRO may have some sensitivity towards thoron, which can have a significant impact on radon measurement. The traditional radon exhalation models generally ignore the presence of thoron, leading to an overestimation of the radon exhalation rate from soil.

Recently, evidence has suggested that chronic endometritis (CE) is a crucial factor associated with infertility and failure of assisted reproductive techniques, prompting concern in the reproductive field. Studies have shown that persistent infiltered immune cells stimulation result in the disturbance of endometrial immune microenvironment could lead to the infertility of CE patients finally. Conventional treatments are limited because they lack immune regulation, so it is urgent to develop a novel approach to treat CE and promote embryo implantation in patients with CE.

Radon-222 (Rn-222) exhalation rate is vital for estimating radiation risk from many kinds of materials. AlphaGUARD measures the radon concentration based on the ionization chamber principle, which is currently recognized as a reference instrument to measure radon. In China, measurements of radon exhalation rate are performed by AlphaGUARD operated in flow-through mode on a reference device to verify measurement accuracy.

Background: Anal canal duplication (ACD) is a very rare duplication of the gastrointestinal tract and is described as a secondary anal orifice along the posterior side of the normal anal canal. Early surgical removal is advisable, also in asymptomatic patients, because of the risk of inflammatory complications, such as recurrent crissum abscess, and malignant changes.

Case Presentation: A previously healthy 2-year-old boy was evaluated in the emergency department with fever.

Female pelvic floor dysfunction (FPFD) is a life-changing condition that severely affects women's physical and mental health. Despite the effectiveness of current treatments for FPFD, there is a high rate of short-term recurrence. Here, we introduced an injectable recombinant human collagen (rhCOL)-derived material with high cell adhesion activity to achieve pelvic floor repair and extracellular matrix (ECM) assembly.

Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are increasingly implicated in regulating human carcinogenesis. Previous work showed the oncogenic activity of circ_0018289 in cervical cancer. However, the molecular basis underlying the modulation of circ_0018289 in cervical carcinogenesis is still not fully understood.

Vaginal atrophy (VA) is the thinning and drying of the vaginal walls, which can lead to a variety of symptoms. VA is usually initiated by decreasing estrogen levels in post-menopausal women; so, the traditional treatment of VA is hormone therapy (HT). Here, we sought nonhormonal therapies aimed at treating this condition safely and effectively.

Purpose: The prognostic significance of inflammation-based biomarkers for neuroblastoma (NB) has not been investigated before. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of pre-treatment inflammation biomarkers in children patients with NB.

Patients And Methods: Patients diagnosed with NB from 2008 to 2016 in our institution were enrolled in this study.

Background: To investigated the role of miR-19b-3p in regulating bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) proliferation and osteoblast differentiation.

Methods: The expression of miR-19b-3p and lncRNA H19 were measured in postmenopausal osteoporosis patients and BMP-22 induced BMSCs using qRT-PCR. MiR-19b-3p mimic or inhibitor was transfected into BMP-2 induced BMSCs.

Rapid urbanization in China not only promotes the rapid expansion of urban population and economic agglomeration, but also causes the aggravation of haze pollution. In order to better clarify the asymmetric and nonlinear effects of urban scale and agglomeration on haze pollution, this paper quantitatively evaluates the spatial spillover effects of population size and economic agglomeration on haze pollution in 342 Chinese cities from 2001 to 2016 by using exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) and spatial econometric model. The results show the following: (1) During the research period, the distribution of urban scale, agglomeration, and haze pollution in China presented complex asymmetrical features, with the former two presenting a "core-periphery" distribution mode, while the latter having a tendency to spread around.

Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) has been reported to be expressed in many types of tumor cells, and bind to PD-1 on T lymphocytes to inhibit immune response. Immunologic checkpoint blockade with antibodies that target the PD1/PD-L1 pathway has demonstrated to have impressive antitumor effects on many malignancies. However, the significance of PD1/PD-L1 pathway in cervical cancer remains unclear.

Dopamine receptor 2 (DR2) may be a biomarker for various types of cancer. Ovarian cancer cells overexpress DR2; therefore, blocking DR2 may be a novel treatment strategy for ovarian cancer. Thioridazine, a DR2 blocker, has antineoplastic activity in a variety of cancer cells.
