Target identification remains a crucial process and a current bottleneck for advancing hits through the discovery pipeline. Here we report a method, that takes advantage of the specific detection of protein-ligand complexes by native mass spectrometry (MS) to probe the protein partner of a ligand in an untargeted method.

This paper addresses the problem of mirror surface reconstruction, and proposes a solution based on observing the reflections of a moving reference plane on the mirror surface. Unlike previous approaches which require tedious calibration, our method can recover the camera intrinsics, the poses of the reference plane, as well as the mirror surface from the observed reflections of the reference plane under at least three unknown distinct poses. We first show that the 3D poses of the reference plane can be estimated from the reflection correspondences established between the images and the reference plane.

Existing deraining approaches represent rain streaks with different rain layers and then separate the layers from the background image. However, because of the complexity of real-world rain, such as various densities, shapes, and directions of rain streaks, it is very difficult to decompose a rain image into clean background and rain layers. In this article, we develop a novel single-image deraining method based on residual multiscale pyramid to mitigate the difficulty of rain image decomposition.

Although several pieces of evidence have shown that EVs have potential to respond to bacterial infections, our knowledge about the role of circular RNA (circRNA), an important cargo of EV, behind this process remains poor. In particular, the mechanism by which circRNAs are packaged into EVs remains elusive during bacterial infection.

Currently, all anti-AD drugs treat the symptoms of the disease, and with currently no cure for AD. Flavonoid containing natural products, Myricetin (MYR) and Dihydromyricetin (DMY), are abundant in fruits and vegetables, and have been approved as food supplements in some countries.

Event-based cameras measure intensity changes (called 'events') with microsecond accuracy under high-speed motion and challenging lighting conditions. With the 'active pixel sensor' (APS), the 'Dynamic and Active-pixel Vision Sensor' (DAVIS) allows the simultaneous output of intensity frames and events. However, the output images are captured at a relatively low frame rate and often suffer from motion blur.

Among the naturally occurring plant flavonoids, Apigenin 7-O-glucoside (AGL) is endowed with anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-cancer activities. However, its mechanism of action on cervical cancer, the fourth largest cancer in women, has not yet been clarified.

Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is an ideal target for early therapeutic intervention because SCD occurs at preclinical stages many years before the onset of Alzheimer's disease (AD). According to a novel lifespan-based model of dementia risk, hearing loss is considered the greatest potentially modifiable risk factor of dementia among nine health and lifestyle factors, and hearing impairment is associated with cognitive decline.

Upon herbivore attack, plants emit herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs). HIPVs can prime defences and resistance of intact plants. However, how HIPVs are decoded and translated into functional defence responses is not well understood, especially in long-lived woody plants.

Herein, the preparation of a low-cost Ce -Ni-Y composite is reported by using Y zeolite as carrier loaded with nickel (Ni) and cerium (Ce) as active components and its prominent electrochemical performance. The XPS analysis reveals that strong electronic interaction between Ni and Ce makes a great contribution to the electrochemical performance enhancement.
