As a weak link, the joint surface of machine tools directly affects the stiffness and machining accuracy of the entire machine tool. However, obtaining the distribution of contact stress is a key problem that urgently needs to be solved in exploring the mechanical properties of joint surface connections. In this paper, a tangential contact stress ultrasonic testing method based on the equivalent medium theory is proposed, providing data support for accurately characterizing the contact state of the joint surface.

Current vehicle detection algorithms largely rely on deep learning techniques, enabling the automatic extraction of vehicle image features through convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, in real traffic scenarios, relying only on a single feature extraction unit makes it difficult to fully understand the vehicle information in the traffic scenario, thus affecting the vehicle detection effect.

Damage to the renal tubular epithelial cells (TEC) is a key cellular event in kidney inflammation and subsequent fibrosis. However, drugs targeting renal TEC (RTEC) are limited to the alleviation of kidney fibrosis. Lethal giant larvae 1 (Lgl1) plays a key role in epithelial cell polarity and proliferation.

This study focused on the role of and mechanism by which sympathetic signaling regulates macrophage activation, as well as the contribution to renal fibrosis. Renal denervation alleviated tubular necrosis, tubulointerstitial fibrosis, and macrophage accumulation induced by unilateral ureteral obstruction and ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that efferocytosis can prevent secondary necrosis and proinflammatory factor release, leading to the resolution of inflammation and tissue immunological tolerance in numerous diseases such as stroke. Stroke is a leading cause of death and morbidity for adults worldwide.

The major immunodominant region of SFTSV surface glycoprotein (G) remains unclear. In this study, we constructed adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) vectored vaccine candidates expressing different regions of SFTSV G (Gn, Gc and Gn-Gc) and evaluated their immunogenicity and protective efficacy in mice.

Pulmonary macrophages from COPD patients are characterized by lower phagocytic and bactericidal activity whereas there is hypersecretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The prominent decline of GATA2 expression in pulmonary macrophages from COPD patients inspired us to figure out its role during COPD development. The expression levels of GATA2 were decreased in alveolar macrophages isolated from cigarette smoke (CS)-induced COPD mice and cigarette smoke extract (CSE)-treated macrophages.

The impact of nutrients, as key determinants of bacterial growth and metabolism, on the propagation of ARGs, particularly extracellular ARGs (eARGs), remains poorly understood. In this study, we collected microorganisms from the Yangtze River and established a series of microcosms to investigate how variations in nutrient levels and delivery frequency affect the relative abundance of intracellular ARGs (iARGs) and eARGs in bacterial communities.

A novel comparison of the deep learning neural networks 3D Prompt-ResUNet, nnUNet, and segment anything model-Med3D was applied for the segmentation.

Here, we investigated the antiviral effects of bis-benzylisoquinoline alkaloids (BBAs) on flavivirus infections. We evaluated five specific BBAs-berbamine, tetrandrine, iso-tetrandrine, fangchinoline, and cepharanthine-and found that they effectively inhibited infections by ZIKV, DENV, or JEV by blocking virus entry and genome replication stages in the flavivirus life cycle.

The structure and morphology of PANI/CCS were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and thermal analysis (TA). The mechanical properties of PANI/CCS could be controlled by adjusting the CFs content and polymerization conditions.

The genomic underpinnings of invasiveness, however, are still largely unknown, making it difficult to predict and manage invasive species effectively. The common reed (Phragmites australis) is a dominant grass species in wetland ecosystems and has become particularly invasive when transferred from Europe to North America.

Here, we screen the biased ssDNA binding sequences of DNA repair-related proteins and engineer RAD51-preferred sequences into HDR-boosting modules for ssDNA donors. Donors with these modules exhibit an augmented affinity for RAD51, thereby enhancing HDR efficiency across various genomic loci and cell types when cooperated with Cas9, nCas9, and Cas12a.

Cell-intrinsic antiviral restriction factors are the first line of defense that prevent a virus from establishing a productive infection, while the molecular mechanism of the virus-host interaction is still not fully understood. Our in vitro experiments demonstrated that the Solute Carrier Family 25 Member 12 (SLC25A12) interacted with the JEV nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) and inhibited JEV replication.

Many studies have explored the relationship between Internet use and adolescent health, but the possible mechanisms involved are unclear, and few have focused on Chinese adolescents.
Methods: Based on the data from the China Family Panel Studies 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020, this study used the ordered probit model and OLS model to explore the impact of Internet use on self-rated health and mental health of Chinese adolescents and analyzed the possible mechanisms and heterogeneity involved.
Carbon dots (CDs) have gained intensive interest owing to their small size, unique structure, excellent photoluminescence (PL) properties and broad applications. In particular, pressure-triggered irreversible piezochromic behavior of fluorescent CDs was previously reported and attributed to the sp-sp transition in the carbon core or aggregation-induced emission under high pressure. Here, we report the reversible piezochromic behavior of microwave-heating synthesized CDs (named M-CDs) using ethylenediamine and aspartic acid as precursors.
