FAT atypical cadherin 1 (), which encodes an atypical cadherin-coding protein, has a high mutation rate and is commonly regarded as a tumor suppressor gene in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Nonetheless, the potential regulatory mechanisms by which FAT1 influences the progression of HNSCC remain unresolved. Two new polyacetylenes, (5,12)-14-hydroxytetradeca-5,12-dien-8,10-diyn-1-yl 3-methylbut-2-enoate () and 5, 1'-(6,12)-1-hydroxytetradeca-6,12-dien-8,10-diyn-5-yl 2-methylbutanoate (), together with two known ones, (2,8)-12--methylbutyryltetradeca-2,8-diene-4,6-diyne-1,14-diol (), and ()-5-[5-(but-3-en-1-yn-1-yl)thiophen-2-yl]pent-2-en-4-yn-1-yl acetate () were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the roots of by various chromatographic methods, such as normal phase silica gel column, MPLC, and semi-preparative HPLC. Their structures were identified by kinds of spectroscopic methods including 1D NMR, 2D NMR, IR, UV, HR-ESI-MS, and ECD. Compound exhibited cytotoxic activities in HepG2 and Huh7 cells with IC values of 20.

Infections caused by persistent, drug-resistant bacteria pose significant challenges in inflammation treatment, often leading to severe morbidity and mortality. Herein, the photosensitizer rhodamine derivatives are selected as the light-trapping dye and the electron-rich substituent N-nitrosoaminophen as the nitric oxide (NO)-releasing component to develop a multifunctional (deep) red-light activatable NO photocage/photodynamic prodrug for efficient treatment of wounds and diabetic foot infections. The prodrug, RhB-NO-2 integrates antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT), NO sterilization, and NO-mediated anti-inflammatory properties within a small organic molecule and is capable of releasing NO and generating Reactive oxygen species (ROS) when exposed to (deep) red laser (660 nm).

The widespread application of anode-free lithium metal batteries (AFLMBs) is hindered by the severe dendrite growth and side reactions due to the poor reversibility of Li plating/stripping. Herein, our study introduces an ultrathin interphase layer of covalent cage 3 (CC3) for highly reversible AFLMBs. The subnano triangular windows in CC3 serve as a Li sieve to accelerate Li desolvation and transport kinetics, inhibit electrolyte decomposition, and form LiF- and LiN-rich solid-electrolyte interphases.

Functional injectable hydrogel (IH) is promising for infected bone defects (IBDs) repair, but how to endow it with desired antibacterial/immunoregulatory functions as well as avoid mechanical failures during its manipulation has posed as main challenges. Herein, rosmarinic acid (RosA), a natural product with antibacterial/immunoregulatory activities, was utilized to develop a FCR IH through forming phenylboronic acid ester bonds with 4-formylphenyl phenylboronic acid (4-FPBA) grafted chitosan (CS) (FC). After being applied to the IBD site, the FCR IH was then injected with tobramycin (Tob) solution, another alkaline antibacterial drug, to induce in situ crystallization of the FC, endowing the resultant FCRT hydrogel with adaptively enhanced mechanical strength and structural stability.
