There is very little research on the synthesis of β-3-deoxy-D-manno-oct-2-ulosonic acid (Kdo) -glycosides, which restricted their widespread application. Herein, a convenient and efficient approach to synthesize β-Kdo -glycosides was developed based on a TfO/(-Tol)SO preactivation strategy using bench stable peracetylated Kdo thioglycoside as a donor a thermodynamic S1-like mechanism.

Herein, we report a novel tumor microenvironment (TME) stimulus-responsive water-soluble glycosylated photosensitizer (BT-TPE@Fe-Lac), which can serve as a high-efficiency antitumor agent by combining PDT and CDT, based on the coordination of Fe with lactosyl bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine and an AIE luminogen (benzothiazole-hydroxytetraphenylethene, BT-TPE). BT-TPE@Fe-Lac is stable under physiological conditions and selectively targets HepG2 cells asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR)-mediated endocytosis.

The combination of AIEgens and sugars can construct glycosyl AIEgens with the advantages of good water-solubility, low fluorescent background and satisfactory biocompatibility. Based on the specific reaction or binding with analytes to change the conjugate system or restrict intramolecular motions, glycosyl AIEgens can be used as powerful tools for detecting bioactive molecules or imaging living cells.

However, the red/near-infrared light-triggered photolysis process of current photocage is largely singlet oxygen (O)-dependent and lack of compatibility with other reactive oxygen species (ROS)-activated techniques, which has proven to be the major bottleneck in achieving efficient and precise treatment. Herein, we reported a lactosylated photocage BT-LRC by covalently incorporating camptothecin (CPT) into hybrid BODIPY-TPE fluorophore via the superoxide anion radical (O ⋅)-cleavable thioketal bond for type I photodynamic therapy (PDT) and anticancer drug release.

The following four points were addressed: (1) the instability is a process that roadway in coal seam with rock parting go through from stable locking in the initial stress unloading stage to slipping unlocking, and then to spatter ejection in slipping dynamic load disturbance stage. (2) The fracture development caused by unloading excavation of coal seam with rock parting will change from shear crack to tensile crack.

Aims: To investigate the impact of IUS-detected i-fat on long-term clinical outcomes.
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 171 active CD patients who initiated infliximab.
Background: Intestinal ultrasound (IUS) is becoming a standard assessment tool in Crohn's disease (CD), but limited data exist on its ability to predict long-term objective outcomes. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the predictive value of IUS findings for long-term transmural healing (TH) and mucosal healing (MH) in CD.
Methods: We prospectively included consecutive CD patients with active endoscopic disease and bowel wall thickness (BWT) >3.
The in situ self-assembly of exogenous molecules is a powerful strategy for manipulating cellular behavior. However, the direct self-assembly of photochemically inert constituents into supramolecular nano-photosensitizers (PSs) within cancer cells for precise photodynamic therapy (PDT) remains a challenge. Herein, we developed a glycosylated Aza-BODIPY compound (LMBP) capable of self-assembling into J-aggregate nanofibers in situ for cell membrane destruction and type I PDT.

Methods: In this prospective study, conducted from September to November 2021, patients with colorectal cancer were consecutively recruited and underwent same-day ultrasound, SHF-CEUS, and PFB-CEUS. The reference standard was contrast-enhanced MRI and follow-up imaging.
A convenient and efficient approach was developed to synthesize α-Kdo -glycosides based on the TfO/(-Tol)SO preactivation strategy using peracetylated Kdo thioglycoside as a donor. Under the optimized reaction conditions, several -glycoside products, including α-(2 → 1)-, α-(2 → 2)-, α-(2 → 3)-, and α-(2 → 6)-Kdo products, were stereoselectively synthesized in high yields. Remarkably, a series of aromatic α-Kdo -glycosides were first and successfully constructed in high yields.

Insulin is a protein hormone that easily undergoes aggregation and fibrillation to form more toxic amyloid-like fibrils. So far, it is still challenging to develop a new protocol to study the detection and inhibition of amyloid fibrillation.

However, the impact of interspecific introgression on the genomic regions under domestication and subsequent selection remains unclear. Here, we analyze the whole genomes of domestic sheep and their wild relative species.

TPELC was comprised of three moieties (tetraphenylethylene, dicyanovinyl group and lactose unit) in one molecule, making TPELC water-soluble and aggregation-induced emission (AIE)-active and selectively reactive to cyanide. Compared with other reported fluorescent probes containing dicyanovinyl group, TPELC is the first AIE luminogen to be assembled as fluorescent organic nanoparticles (FONs) for sensing of cyanide in water without the use of surfactant or the help of organic solvents based on the nucleophilic addition reaction.

In this work, we designed an amphiphilic hydrazone fluorescent molecule THG-1 containing hydrophilic sugar units and hydrophobic tetraphenylethylene unit for ratiometric detection of HOCl with high sensitivity and excellent selectivity based on HOCl-triggered hydrolyzation reaction and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect. The detection mechanism was verified by liquid chromatograph mass spectrometry experiments and scanning electron microscope (SEM) tests.

Here, we first developed a set of 493 novel ovine SNPs of the male-specific region of Y chromosome (MSY) by genome mapping. We then conducted a comprehensive genomic analysis of Y chromosome, mitochondrial DNA, and whole-genome sequence variations in a large number of 595 rams representing 118 domestic populations across the world.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo water-soluble carbohydrate-coated AIE-activate fluorescent organic nanoparticles TPE3G and TPE4G were designed and synthesized for the detection of heparin. Different from the reported strategy, we not only utilized the general detection mechanism of electrostatic interactions, but also introduced the concept of carbohydrate-carbohydrate interactions (CCIs) to enrich the detection mechanism of heparin. TPE3G can serve as an efficient "turn-on" probe with higher selectivity towards heparin than TPE4G.
