Objectives: To outline the design of the P3 study and serve as a summary of the interim baseline patient characteristics.
Methods: P3 study is a multicenter, prospective cohort study targeting 1000 acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) patients with a 2-year follow-up from 80 participating hospitals across China. Comprehensive multimodal imaging, neuropsychological tests, and biological samples were collected prospectively on admission and follow-up visits.
Background: Abnormal eye movements occur at the early stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the characteristics of abnormal eye movements of patients with AD and their relationship with clinical symptoms remain inconsistent, and their predictive value for diagnosing and monitoring the progression of AD remains unclear.
Methods: A total of 42 normal controls, 63 patients with mild cognitive impairment due to AD (AD-MCI), and 49 patients with dementia due to AD (AD-D) were recruited.
Background And Purpose: Basilar artery (BA) tortuosity is closely associated with posterior circulation infarction (PCI) and dizziness/unsteadiness. This study aims to determine the relationship between BA tortuosity and the outcome of dizziness and unsteadiness in PCI patients.
Method: This study prospectively recruited PCI patients presenting with dizziness and unsteadiness.
Background: GD-11, a novel brain cytoprotective drug, was designed to be actively taken up and transported across the blood-brain barrier via the glucose transporter. Methods: A double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled, phase 2 trial was conducted at 15 clinical sites in China.
Background: Elevated white blood cell count, fibrinogen levels, and lower levels of albumin signify higher systemic inflammatory response, hypercoagulable state, and poorer nutritional status, respectively. However, a consistent conclusion could not be drawn on whether the association between inflammatory markers and cardiovascular disease was affected by the presence of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
