Immune-modulating peptides have shown potential as novel immune-stimulating agents which enhance the secretion of anticancer cytokines in vitro. However, fast clearance from blood hampers the ability of such peptides to accumulate in the tumour and results in limited therapeutic efficacy in animal studies. To address the fast blood clearance, this work reports the development and validation of a novel polymeric nanoparticle delivery system for the efficient localization of an immunomodulating peptide in the tumour microenvironment (TME).

This study employed a simple and time-saving method to investigate the influences of temperature and moisture content on the temperature dependence of matric suction in loess and sand soils. Based on experimental data, the fitting performance of three data-fitting models-Brooks-Corey, van Genuchten, and Fredlund-Xing -was evaluated at temperatures above 0 °C.

Objective To investigate the effect of serum containing Xinfeng capsule (XFC) on the angiogenesis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) induced by rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLS) and its mechanism of action. Methods An in vitro co-culture model of RA-FLS and HUVEC was established. Serum containing XFC was prepared by oral gavage of SD rats.

This retrospective study sought to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of four staining protocols in identifying early stage esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).
Methods: A consecutive series of ninety biopsy samples of esophageal mucosa, collected retrospectively from March 2016 to December 2019, were obtained at Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital, a tertiary care facility in Beijing, China.
Introduction: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) has become one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths globally, with metastasis representing the most lethal stage of the disease. Despite significant advances in diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for LUAD, the mechanisms enabling cancer cells to breach the blood-brain barrier remain poorly understood. While genomic profiling has shed light on the nature of primary tumors, the genetic drivers and clinical relevance of LUAD metastasis are still largely unexplored.

However, the structure of glycoprotein (AAG) and the stability of its hypoglycemic activity during simulated digestion (including saliva, gastral and intestine digestion) in vitro are still unknown. In this study, AAG-3 was isolated from .

This study investigated internal mechanism and interaction of heavy metals, pesticides (atrazine, pyrimazole and chlorpyrifos) and microplastics in soil. Specifically, certain sampling points exhibited elevated levels of individual heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Zn), exceeding the screening values, while both microplastics and pesticides demonstrated high variability, increasing the potential ecological risks.

Porosity was evaluated using an ultrasonic attenuation model, which was established by taking consideration of surface losses, material attenuation coefficient and void attenuation coefficient.

Yet, the interaction between glycerol, a prominent polyol in Baijiu, and volatile flavor compounds remains elusive. The effect of glycerol concentration on the volatility of 13 Baijiu flavor compounds was analyzed by GC-IMS and GC-MS.

We showed that senescence-sensitive spots (SSSs) colocalized with elevated entropy in organizational structure and that the aggregation of immunoglobulin-expressing cells is a characteristic feature of the microenvironment surrounding SSSs. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) accumulated across the aged tissues in both male and female mice, and a similar phenomenon was observed in human tissues, suggesting the potential of the abnormal elevation of immunoglobulins as an evolutionarily conserved feature in aging.

Hence, AuCePt porous hollow cascade nanozymes (AuCePt PHNs) are designed by integrating the dominant enzymatic activities of three metallic materials, which exhibit superior superoxide dismutase/catalase-like activities, and high drug loading capacity. In vitro experiments proved that AuCePt PHNs can ultra-efficiently scavenge endogenous and exogenous ROS.

Profile for the Omission of Local Adjuvant Radiotherapy (POLAR) is a 16-gene molecular signature developed to identify low risk cancers where RT will not further reduce recurrence rates.
Methods: An individual participant data meta-analysis was performed in 623 cases of node-negative ER+/HER2-negative early breast cancer enrolled in three RT randomized trials for whom primary tumor material was available for analysis.
The health effects of dietary fiber have been widely concerned, which are closely related to physicochemical properties. This study focused on soluble dietary fiber of Flammulina velutipes (FDF), evaluated the effects of modifications on structural characterization, the physicochemical properties and the heavy metal adsorption characteristics, and further clarified underlying mechanisms on Pb adsorption behavior of FDFs. The results showed the modifications of extrusion and cellulase improved the yield of FDFs, increased the release of active groups and enhanced the adsorption ability in vitro.

Herein, we innovatively report synergistic modulation of dynamic electron modification and strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) to activate and stabilize bifunctional fluorine doped Ru/RuO clusters anchored on carbon nanotube (CNT), thus achieving efficient and stable acidic overall water splitting. Theoretical and experimental studies found that surface metal-fluorine modification layer could dynamically regulate the interfacial electronic environment to stabilize and activate multiple active Ru species; and the SMSI between Ru/RuO cluster and CNT maintains stable electronic environment for dynamic electron modification and avoids migrating or shedding of active species in acidic environment.
