This paper presents a detailed gross description of all anatomical elements of the humerus in the African green monkey and provides comparative and differential elements on monkey osteology. The osteometric investigation adds value to the gross morphological investigation, adjoining metric data to the gross descriptive data set. A student's sense of belonging to a university is associated with success in academic setting, happiness, and satisfaction. It is therefore unsurprising that universities commonly strive to improve student measures of belonging especially considering its negative correlation with attrition rates. This study documents the implementation and assessment of a new curricular intervention at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) and measures associated changes in students' feeling of belonging to the university and accountability for their success.

Otological studies rely on a lot of data drawn from animal studies. A lot of pathological or evolutionary questions may find answers in studies on primates, providing insights into the morphological, pathological, and physiological aspects of systematic biological studies. Our study on auditory ossicles moves from a pure morphological (macroscopic and microscopic) investigation of auditory ossicles to the morphometrical evaluation of several individuals as well as to some interpretative data regarding some functional aspects drawn from these investigations.

The persistent use of MLCs through VMAT and IMRT is causing additional wear and tear on these mechanical parts, leading to an increase in MLC interlocks, breakdowns and failures. This study investigates the effect of an MLC clean and service procedure on MLC performance and positional accuracy demonstrated through in-house service logbook reports, Varian MLC backlash test results, daily MLC position QC results and Varian TrueBeam trajectory log file data. Wound biofilms must be identified to target disruption and bacterial eradication but are challenging to detect with standard clinical assessment. This study tested whether bacterial fluorescence imaging could detect porphyrin-producing bacteria within a biofilm using well-established in vivo models. Introduction: This study describes the experience at a level 1 pediatric trauma center before and after the centralization of prehospital trauma triage, focusing on the rate of undertriage of trauma patients. Before centralization, emergency physicians were responsible for triaging these patients with mainly physiology-based criteria; after centralization, paramedics in a communication center performed this function using the same criteria.

Methods: This retrospective study includes 10 years of pediatric trauma registry patients at our institution, 5 years before and after centralization of prehospital triage.

A small percentage of the short interfering RNA (siRNA) delivered via passive lipid nanoparticles and other delivery vehicles reaches the cytoplasm of cells. The high doses of siRNA and delivery vehicle that are thus required to achieve therapeutic outcomes can lead to toxicity. Here, we show that the integration of siRNA sequences into a Dicer-independent RNA stem-loop based on pre-miR-451 microRNA-which is highly enriched in small extracellular vesicles secreted by many cell types-reduces the expression of the genes targeted by the siRNA in the liver, intestine and kidney glomeruli of mice at siRNA doses that are at least tenfold lower than the siRNA doses typically delivered via lipid nanoparticles.

As educational technology advances, it is imperative that universities responsibly and appropriately adapt new approaches to enhance teaching and learning. Over a 6-month period, veterinary students at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) spearheaded the improvement of a proprietary prototype virtual interactive three-dimensional (3D), touch screen, canine anatomy table (APEX). We demonstrate a spectroscopic imaging based super-resolution approach by separating the overlapping diffraction spots into several detectors during a single scanning period and taking advantage of the size-dependent emission wavelength in nanoparticles. This approach has been tested using off-the-shelf quantum dots (Invitrogen Qdot) and in-house novel ultra-small (~3 nm) Ge QDs. Furthermore, we developed a method-specific Gaussian fitting and maximum likelihood estimation based on a Matlab algorithm for fast QD localisation.
