Malignant teratoid medulloepithelioma in an adult.

A 50-year-old man presented with a reddish, well-vascularized mass in the region of a nasal iridodialysis of his left eye, pushing the whole iris in this sector forwards; the mass had a pinkish, partly cystic appearance in the pupil. The tumour was transparent on diaphanoscopy. A-scan sonography revealed a solid tumour of the ciliary body with partial retinal detachment suggesting a malignant melanoma.

Fibrous histiocytoma of the corneosclera.

A 65-year-old woman had a slowly progressive sclerocorneal lesion that, after three years of unsuccessful medical treatment, involved almost the whole cornea and the surrounding sclera in the temporal lower quadrant. The tumor had a nodular surface. During the next two years, the tumor was operated on four times (twice by keratectomy and twice by lamellar sclerokeratoplasty).

Diffuse malignant ring melanoma of the iris and ciliary body.

2 cases of diffuse malignant ring melanoma of the anterior uvea are presented. A correct clinical diagnosis led to enucleation in case 1, while in case 2, the eye was enucleated 2 years after anti-glaucomatous surgery.

Endogenous fungus endophthalmitis (probably Aspergillus).

A 53-year-old organic chemist developed severe asthma and bronchitis a few weeks after professional exposure to plant dust. 15 days later an acute severe endophthalmitis occurred. Both the systemic and eye conditions were treated with corticosteroids and antibiotics.

Choristomatous malformation in a cystic colobomatous eye.

The clinical and histopathological picture of a brain-like choristomatous malformation in a cystic colobomatous eye having remnants of the primary optic vesicle cavity without continuity to the ventricular system of the brain in an otherwise healthy boy, is presented.
