Self-related information is crucial in our daily lives, which has led to the proposal that there is a specific brain mechanism for processing it. Neuroimaging studies have consistently demonstrated that the default mode network (DMN) is strongly associated with the representation and processing of self-related information. However, the precise relationship between DMN activity and self-related information, particularly in terms of neural oscillations, remains largely unknown.

Liquid biopsy has emerged as a promising non-invasive approach for detecting, monitoring diseases, and predicting their recurrence. However, the effective utilization of liquid biopsy data to identify reliable biomarkers for various cancers and other diseases requires further exploration. Here, we present cfOmics, a web-accessible database (https://cfomics.

Article Synopsis
  • Gastric cancer (GC) is a severe and aggressive disease, highlighting the need for better treatments.
  • A new compound called arthpyrone M (Art-M), derived from a marine fungus, has been shown to effectively reduce GC cell growth and movement both in laboratory and animal studies.
  • Art-M works mainly by inhibiting the mTORC1 pathway, which is linked to cancer progression, and enhances the effects of the existing drug apatinib, making it a potential new treatment for GC.

Advanced gastric cancer (GCa) remains highly lethal due to the lack of effective therapies. Identifying promising therapeutic targets and developing effective treatment against GCa are urgently needed. Through mRNA and protein analysis of GCa clinical tumor samples, we found that autophagy-related gene 4B (ATG4B) was overexpressed in GCa tumors and that its high expression was associated with patients' poor prognosis.

Based on the distribution data of obtained from field investigation and literature, the ecological-niche factor analysis (ENFA) and the maximum entropy model (MaxEnt) were used to simulate the distribution law and suitable area of in the western Sichuan Plateau. The prediction was made for the future changes in the suitable area of by analyzing the relationship between climate factors and dynamic distribution. The results showed that the area under curve (AUC) values of both the model training set and validation set were greater than 0.

We introduced a novel micro/nanofluidic chip platform (MNCP), which is based on an isothermal nucleic acid amplification method. This study aimed to evaluate the MNCP method for influenza A and B viruses detecting and subtyping using throat swab samples from patients with influenza-like illness (ILI). A total of 266 throat swab samples from 266 non-repeated patients with ILI were tested for influenza A and B viruses using three methods, MNCP, a rapid influenza diagnostic test (RIDT), and real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR).

Background: Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumor in women, and surgical intervention is still the main fibroid treatment. Patient demands have encouraged development of less-invasive methods such as high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). This study aimed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of magnetic resonance-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy using a volumetric ablation technique in the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids in China.
