Our method, which has previously only been applied to closely related languages, makes predictions for cognate reflexes based on the regularity of proposed sound correspondences between language families that are hypothesized to be related. Over the past 15 years, there has been a shift toward meniscus preservation even for previously believed irreparable patterns like bucket handle, radial, meniscus root, vertical, and horizontal cleavage tears (HCTs). HCTs are a common tear pattern, especially as we age, and are estimated to occur in 23% to 32% of meniscus tears. They occur in both males and females, are more common on the medial than the lateral side, and most often occur with minor to normal trauma in an anterior cruciate ligament intact knee.

Diabetes insipidus (DI) in patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and chromosome 3q alterations (EVI1/PRDM3/MECOM overexpression) constitutes a poorly understood paraneoplasia. A 44-year-old patient presented with clinical and morphological features of this syndrome but, surprisingly, disclosed the rare translocation t(1;2)(p36;p21), with massive PRDM16 overexpression. WGS and RNA sequencing suggest enhancer hijacking of the ZFP36L2 enhancer region as underlying mechanism.

Treatment of meniscus injuries has evolved from open to arthroscopic, from total to partial meniscectomy, and ultimately towards meniscus preservation. In theory, almost all tear types can be repaired, including root tears, (oblique) radial tears, horizontal cleavage tears, vertical tears, and even complex tears, as a result of improved surgical techniques and tools. Meniscus repair outcomes literature may be confounded by the lack of inclusion of control groups, as well as concomitant anterior cruciate ligament injury and reconstruction, augmentation with fibrin clot or platelet-rich plasma or other biologics, suture configuration, and timing of repair.

Although γδ T cells are known to participate in immune dysregulation in solid tumors, their relevance to human microsatellite-stable (MSS) colorectal cancer (CRC) is still undefined. Here, using integrated gene expression analysis and T cell receptor sequencing, we characterized γδ T cells in MSS CRC, with a focus on Vδ1 + T cells. Over the past decade, there has been an increased awareness of the recognition and treatment of medial meniscus posterior root tears. Recent systematic reviews and meta-analyses have shown that surgical repair of medial meniscus posterior root tears is effective in improving patient-reported outcome measures and decreasing the progression of osteoarthritis when compared with nonoperative treatment or meniscectomy. The available techniques currently consist of transosseous suture fixation and direct suture anchor fixation, with transosseous repairs being the most frequently performed.
