This paper focuses on modelling glaucoma evolution because it requires early diagnosis, individualized treatment, and lifelong monitoring. Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive, irreversible, multifactorial optic neuropathy that primarily affects elderly individuals.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women in the United States. The National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) demonstrated that low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening can reduce lung cancer mortality among high-risk individuals, but uptake of lung screening remains low. Social media platforms have the potential to reach a large number of people, including those who are at high risk for lung cancer but who may not be aware of or have access to lung screening.

Descemet Membrane detachment is a potential complication after Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK). Here, we present a unique case of a DMEK surgery in a complicated eye that suffered a nearly complete DMEK graft detachment and later a graft opacification with a pseudo-anterior chamber. In Mid-November 2020, a planned DMEK was performed in a 64-year-old male patient due to corneal decompensation.

A strong relationship between the healthcare team and family is integral to provision of holistic support during this time of crisis. Family-centered care necessitates a fluid, therapeutic relationship between parents and the child's healthcare team.

Patients And Methods: Retrospective, case-series analysis of patients who underwent modified DALK to rescue failed corneal grafts after PK was included. Every patient had corneal graft failure (GF) diagnosis due to anterior corneal (epithelium, Bowman's, and stroma layers) or refraction disorders uncorrectable with conservative management.
Caffeine and theophylline are compounds with important applications in the pharmaceutical industry and other fields of the chemical industry. These purine derivatives have simple chemical structures, therefore, the evaluation of their sublimation process contributes to the development of mass transfer analysis methods that can later be applied to other compounds with more complex structures. With the help of thermogravimetric analysis in isothermal conditions, the kinetic study of the sublimation of caffeine and theophylline, along with the evaluation of kinetic parameters (activation energy and the pre-exponential factor), was carried out.

Methods: This study included 20 eyes of 20 patients that underwent V4c ICL (13 eyes with a spherical ICL and 7 eyes with a toric ICL) implantation after DALK. Uncorrected (UDVA) and corrected (CDVA) distance visual acuities, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP), endothelial cell density (ECD), and vault were analyzed.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the long-term outcomes of implanting intrastromal corneal ring segments (ICRSs) using a femtosecond laser for correcting astigmatism in patients who had previous deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) throughout a 5-year follow-up period.
Methods: This retrospective study included 40 eyes of 40 patients with previous DALK and astigmatism ≥3.00 D who underwent Ferrara-type ICRS implantation.
Knowing the thermodynamic and transport properties of liquid systems is very important in engineering for the development of theoretical models and for the design of new technologies. Models that allow accurate predictions of thermodynamic and transport properties are needed in chemical engineering calculations involving fluid, heat, and mass transfer. In this study, the modeling of viscosity deviation for binary and ternary systems containing benzyl alcohol, n-hexanol, and water, less studied in the literature, was carried out using Redlich and Kister (R-L) models, multiple linear regression (MLR) models and artificial neural networks (ANN).

Methods: This retrospective case series study included 10 eyes that underwent Femto-LASIK after a DALK. The refractive error, uncorrected (UDVA) and corrected (CDVA) distance visual acuities, thinnest corneal thickness (TCT), and central corneal thickness (CCT) were registered.

Methods: This prospective clinical study included patients who underwent ICRS implantation for keratoconus over a period of 1 year. On the day of the surgery and at least 1 month after ICRS implantation, the following measurements were made: corrected and uncorrected distance visual acuity, corneal tomography indices with the Pentacam (Oculus Optikgeräte GmbH), biomechanically corrected intraocular pressure (bIOP), Corvis ST DCR parameters, integrated inverse concave radius (1/R), deformation amplitude ratio (DA ratio), stiffness parameter at first applanation (SP-A1), stress-strain index (SSI), and highest concavity radius (HRC).
Most of the time, industrial brick manufacture facilities are designed and commissioned for a particular type of manufacture mix and a particular type of burning process. Productivity and product quality maintenance and improvement is a challenge for process engineers. Our paper aims at using machine learning methods to evaluate the impact of adding new auxiliary materials on the amount of exhaust emissions.

Introduction: The Cognitive Health in Ageing Register: Investigational, Observational and Trial Studies in Dementia Research (CHARIOT): Prospective Readiness cOhort (PRO) SubStudy (CPSS), sponsored by Janssen Pharmaceutical Research & Development LLC, is an Alzheimer's disease (AD) biomarker enriched observational study that began 3 July 2015 CPSS aims to identify and validate determinants of AD, alongside cognitive, functional and biological changes in older adults with or without detectable evidence of AD pathology at baseline.
Methods And Analysis: CPSS is a dual-site longitudinal cohort (3.5 years) assessed quarterly.
Background: To assess the clinical outcomes of the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) with a central port throughout 7 years of follow-up.
Methods: Eighty-four eyes of 52 patients were evaluated over a follow-up period of 7 years after V4c ICL implantation. Uncorrected (UDVA) and corrected (CDVA) distance visual acuities, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP), endothelial cell density (ECD) and vault were analysed.
Purpose: To assess the efficacy, safety, and predictability of the Visian implantable collamer lens with a central port in patients aged between 45 and 55 years.
Setting: Fernández-Vega Ophthalmological Institute, Oviedo, Spain.
Design: Retrospective case series.
Purpose: To evaluate the outcomes of implanting intrastromal corneal ring segment (ICRS) using two different strategies in a specific paracentral keratoconus phenotype.
Methods: Eighty-nine eyes with paracentral keratoconus with perpendicular topographic astigmatism and comatic axes were evaluated before and after implanting a 150° arc-length ICRS. Patients were divided into two groups according to the axis where the ICRS was implanted: Group I: comatic axis and Group II: flat topographic axis.
