In this study, ultrasonic technology was combined with microwave vacuum drying technology to explore the impacts of different coupling methods (ultrasonic pretreatment and ultrasonic coupled drying) on the structural characterisation and physicochemical properties of shiitake mushroom (Lentinus edodes) polysaccharides at different ultrasonic powers (0, 120 and 280 W), and compared with hot air drying (HAD). The results demonstrated that the monosaccharide composition of Lentinus edodes polysaccharides (LEPs) remained largely unaltered after treatment with various drying methods, although significant disparities in molar content were observed. The study aims to examine the spatial distribution and temporal progression of amyloid-beta (Aβ) and tau pathologies, along with mapping the pathology-functional connectivity network, in asymptomatic ADAD mutation carriers using hybrid positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI).

This study uses panel data from the 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study to examine the labor supply effects of spousal disability in later life. Employing a staggered difference-in-differences strategy, we provide causal evidence of gender-specific impacts, with a significant and enduring negative effect on female employment lasting over eight years, in contrast to minimal changes for males. The negative effect on female employment is particularly pronounced among low-educated individuals, those with agricultural hukou, and those influenced by stronger Confucian cultural norms.

Capsules were widely used in clinical settings for the oral delivery of various drugs, although it remains challenging to trace real-time drug release behavior and adjust dosages based on the therapeutic effect. To address these issues, we developed theranostic capsules that loaded two kinds of fluorescence nanoparticles, HO-responsive Janus Ag/AgS nanoparticles (Ag/AgS JNPs) and the downconversion nanoparticles (DCNPs), and the dexamethasone (Dex) drug. The Ag/AgS JNPs exhibit a highly sensitive fluorescence (FL) signal at 1250 nm in response to HO, while the FL signal from the DCNPs at 1550 nm remains stable under physiological conditions.

Age, gender, comorbidities, and comparative analysis of operation time, blood loss, length of hospital stay, postoperative nausea and vomiting score, gastroesophageal reflux GerdQ score, postoperative pain score, weight, and postoperative complications were analyzed.

Alginate lyase Aly448, a potential new member of the polysaccharide lyase (PL) 7 family, which was cloned and identified from the macroalgae-associated bacterial metagenomic library, showed bifunctionality. The molecular docking results revealed that Aly448 has two completely different binding sites for alginate (polyMG), poly-α-l-guluronic acid (polyG), and poly-β-d-mannuronic acid (polyM) substrates, respectively, which might be the molecular basis for the enzyme's bifunctionality. Truncational results confirmed that predicted key residues affected the bifunctionality of Aly448, but did not wholly explain.
