Smartphone Application Intervention on Obstructive Sleep Apnea Among Overweight and Obese High-Tech Employees: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of an adjusting lifestyle intervention with a smartphone application (app) in managing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) among overweight and obese high-tech employees. A 6-months three-armed randomized controlled trial was employed. A total of 144 eligible participants were randomly allocated into the smartphone app 'MyFitnessPal' plus education (MFPE; n = 48), 'MyFitnessPal'-only (MFP-only; n = 50) and the control group (n = 46) at a 1:1:1 ratio.

National residency matching reports suggest that meaningful research experience improves surgical residency match success - therefore, formal funding opportunities and early mentorship for URiM medical students. In this study, we catalog medical student (MS) funding opportunities (funding type, eligibility by year, mission, compensation, length of commitment, number of awardees, and dollar investment amount per student) from 7 surgical departments (general surgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery) within 196 US medical schools and 20 professional surgical educational organizations through manually searching web pages.

This paper presents an evidence-based pilot HHWS developed for Taipei City, Taiwan, through a co-design process engaging stakeholders.
