Under gas-liquid microextraction (GLME) operating conditions (extraction temperature 270 °C, extraction time 7 min, condensation temperature -2 °C, and carrier nitrogen gas speed 2.5 mL/min), ice cream samples, as a representative food, were pre-treated. The volatile aroma components of each sample was qualitatively analysed using GC-MS.

Genetic Variants of the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End-products in Susceptibility to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Primary Hypertensive Patients.

Diabetes mellitus is frequently comorbid with hypertension, which is approximately twice as common as diabetes mellitus in China. We designed a case-control association study to inspect the susceptibility of the receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE) gene 6 variants to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in 2199 patients with primary hypertension (1252 diabetic cases and 947 nondiabetic controls). The genotypes/alleles of -429T > C and 82Gly > Ser variants differed significantly between the two groups, and their associations with T2DM were significant after Bonferroni correction.

Two case reports of bilateral adrenal myelolipomas.

Primary adrenal myelolipoma is a rare, non-functioning adrenal benign tumor that is composed of mature adipose tissue and a variable amount of haemopoietic elements. Clinically, it is difficult to get diagnosed with adrenal myelolipoma because the patient usually doesn't have obvious symptoms and signs in early stage. In the present study, two cases of primary bilateral adrenal myelolipomas are reported.

Methods: >From 1953 to April 2002, a total of 28 patients with non-epithelial tissue tumor in 3 925 bladder tumor cases were analyzed.

[Diagnosis and treatment of complete necrosis of the ureter after cadaveric renal transplantation].

Objective: To deepen the understanding of patients with complete necrosis of the ureter after renal transplantation for early diagnosis and treatment.

Methods: Of 5 patients with complete necrosis of the ureter after renal transplantatioin between January 1991 and April 2001 in our hospital, 4 were male and 1 was female (mean age, 35 years). Seven to 12 days after renal transplantation, native pyeloureterestomy was performed for 1 patient, and the remaining 4 patients received the cutting of the diatal necrosis ureter and vesicoureterostomy because of urine leakage.
