Squamous cell carcinoma is a well-known and prevalent form of skin cancer. Although commonly associated with areas of increased sun exposure, squamous cell carcinoma can also localize to the foot. Immunocompromised patients are also at an increased risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma, in comparison to individuals with a fully intact immune system.

ESRs, bone and soft tissue microbiologic cultures, and pathologic examination of the suspected bone involved were obtained. ESRs were drawn within 48 hours before surgically obtaining the bone specimen.
