Decatungstate as a photocatalyst can activate various C(sp)-H bonds to successfully construct the C(sp)-C(sp) bond with -tosylimines. Herein density functional theory (DFT) calculations reveal a unique radical mechanism triggered by the reductive quenching cycle of decatungstate. First of all, photoexcited *[WO] activates the C(sp)-H bond of ether through the hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) mechanism to generate [HWO] and a C-centered radical species.

Milk protein is one of the eight major allergens, and α-lactalbumin (α-LA) is one of the major allergens of bovine milk protein. Our previous studies found that HM-22 ( HM-22) showed a good gastrointestinal survival rate and intestinal colonization. To investigate the effect of HM-22 on intestinal inflammation and intestinal microbiota in α-LA-induced allergic mice, in this study, HM-22 at low and high doses was intragastrically administered to α-LA-induced allergic mice for 5 weeks.

LCN2 is involved in various cellular functions, including transport of small hydrophobic molecules, protection of MMP9 from proteolytic degradation, and regulating innate immunity. LCN2 is elevated in multiple human cancers, frequently being associated with tumor size, stage, and invasiveness. Our previous studies have shown that LCN2 expression could be induced by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) by the binding of five nucleoproteins (MISP, KLF10, KLF15, PPP1R18, and RXR) at a novel TPA-responsive element (TRE), at -152~-60 bp of the 5' flanking region of the promoter.

Purpose: To investigate the optical intensity in different compartments of subretinal fluid in acute Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease by using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).

Methods: Fifty acute VKH eyes and 25 cases with acute central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) were included in this retrospective comparative study. The optical intensities of subretinal fluid, vitreous humour and the entire scanned region displayed by SD-OCT were measured with Image J by three independent readers.

Unlabelled: Currently, Saphenous vein (SV) and internal thoracic artery (ITA) are still the most common graft materials in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) whereas SV graft have a lower long-term patency than ITA. Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) phenotype conversion, proliferation and migration may play a key role in mechanism of vein graft restenosis. To explore differential gene expression profile in VSMCs from SV and ITA will help to further elucidate the mechanism of VSMCs in vein graft restenosis after CABG and to provide new thread of gene therapy.

Ezrin, encoded by VIL2, is a membrane-cytoskeletal linker protein that has been suggested to be involved in tumorigenesis. Ezrin expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) was described recently, but its clinical significance and the molecular mechanism underlying its regulated expression remain unclear. Thus, we retrospectively evaluated ezrin expression by immunohistochemistry in a tissue microarray representing 193 ESCCs.

Objective: To construct E1-deletion and replication-defective human type 5 recombinant adenovirus vector and to study the effect of p16INK4a on proliferation and aging of A549 cells.

Methods: p16INK4a cDNA was cloned into pAdCMV to construct recombinant pAdCMV p16INK4a, which was co-transfected into 293 cell together with pJM17. The recombinant p16INK4a adenovirus (Ad-p16INK4a) was generated by homologous recombination and identified with duplex PCR.
