Purpose: To compare the effectiveness and safety of 120 applications versus 160 applications of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) at reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) from baseline in glaucoma patients over a 1-year period.
Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted, comprising 376 eyes from 199 patients who underwent SLT treatment performed by the same glaucoma subspecialist from 2014 to 2015. Data were obtained on patients' clinical features, management, and outcomes.
Importance: This study provides ophthalmologists who manage uveitic glaucoma with important information on factors that can affect the success of surgical management of this challenging disease.

Background: Improvement in surgical devices and intraocular lenses has made modern cataract surgery a safe procedure with decreasing complication rates. Intraocular lens dislocation is a serious complication after cataract surgery. Although most dislocations occur during the first week postoperative period, late intraocular lens dislocation occurring 3 months or later post-surgery has been reported with increasing frequency in recent years as a result of progressive zonular dehiscence.

This study was undertaken to test the associations of AMD with the urinary proinflammatory cytokines transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1, macrophage chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1 and C3a-desArg, as potential noninvasive biomarkers for monitoring AMD.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of 103 AMD cases, comprising early AMD (n = 51), geographic atrophy (GA; n = 19), or choroidal neovascularization (CNV; 33), and 54 unrelated controls, aged 73 ± 9 years, who attended the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and private practice in Victoria, Australia.

Purpose: To identify the associated factors and study the clinical and microbiological characteristics of corneal ulcers resulting in evisceration and enucleation in elderly patients in a tertiary care hospital.
Methods: A review of all patients who required evisceration or enucleation due to microbial keratitis at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne, Australia between July 1998 and November 2007 was performed. Of these, patients more than 60 years of age were included in the study for analysis.
