Potential of Klotho as a Biomarker for Overwork: A Study of Frontline Medical Workers.

Objective: This study evaluates the utility of serum s-αKlotho levels as a quantifiable biomarker for overwork.

Methods: Frontline medical workers aged 20-55 from Yiling People's Hospital of Yichang were recruited. Criteria included non-smokers, non-heavy drinkers, no chronic medication use, and no acute illnesses recently.

An Unusual Case of Acute Dyspnoea: Acute Intrathoracic Gastric Volvulus with Probable Tension Gastrothorax.

Unlabelled: Acute gastric volvulus is a rare complication affecting 4% of hiatal hernias. It is described as an abnormal rotation of the stomach around a transverse or longitudinal axis and can be intra-abdominal or intrathoracic. Intrathoracic gastric volvulus can lead to tension gastrothorax, which is defined as the presence of a massive gastric distension in the chest cavity causing a mediastinal shift with haemodynamic instability and a risk of cardiorespiratory arrest.

[Study on drug sensitivity against Comamonas testosteroni by Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method].

Objective: To determine the drug resistance of Comamonas testosteroni (C. testosteroni) by the Kirby-Bauer (K-B) method without Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) explanation or the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method with the standard CLSI explanation to evaluate the sensitivity of K-B method in detection of C. testosteroni.
