Evaluation of injectable platelet-rich fibrin produced by a simple twice-centrifugation method combined with vacuum sealing drainage technology in the treatment of chronic refractory wounds.

To evaluate the effects of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) produced by a simple twice-centrifugation method combined with vacuum sealing drainage on wound inflammation and scar formation in chronic refractory wounds (CRW). A total of sixty-eight patients with CRW who were admitted to our hospital were enrolled in this study. They were then randomly divided into the study group ( = 34) with being treated using negative pressure sealing and drainage technology, and the control group ( = 34) with being treated using injectable platelet-rich fibrin in conjunction with negative pressure sealing and drainage technology.

Prevalence and risk factors of hyperuricemia: results of the Kailuan cohort study.

Objective: The objective of this study is to determine the serum uric acid (SUA) level and the prevalence of hyperuricemia (HUA) in Chinese population.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study among 100,226 employees (79.9% male) of the Kailuan Group using physical examination data in 2006-2007.

Ideal Cardiovascular Health Metrics and Incident Hyperuricemia.

Objective: Hyperuricemia has been shown to be associated with increased risks of gout and cardiovascular diseases. We prospectively investigated the association between the American Heart Association (AHA) ideal cardiovascular health metrics, including smoking, body mass index, dietary intake, physical activity, blood pressure, total cholesterol, and fasting blood glucose, and the risk of developing hyperuricemia.

Methods: We included 77,787 Chinese adults, ages ≥18 years (60,951 men and 16,836 women), without hyperuricemia at the baseline (2006) in this study.

[Influence of blood uric acid on all-cause deaths].

Polysaccharides from extracts of Antrodia camphorata mycelia and fruiting bodies modulate inflammatory mediator expression in mice with polymicrobial sepsis.

Objectives: Antrodia camphorata (AC) is a traditional Chinese medicine, and the polysaccharides contained within AC (AC-PSs) are reported to possess various biological functions. This study extracted AC-PSs from mycelia and fruiting bodies and evaluated their influences on inflammatory mediator expressions in septic mice.

Methods: There were one normal control (NC) and three experimental groups.

Purpose: To investigate the potential for improving the performance of the Osorio-Frei seizure detection algorithm (OFA) by incorporating multiple FIR filters operating in parallel and Gaussian mixture models (GMM) for ECoG features distributions, thus creating "hybrid" system.

Methods: The "hybrid" algorithm decomposes the signal into four subbands, using wavelets, after which relevant features are extracted for each subband. Following these steps, multivariate GMM are developed for seizure and non-seizure states, using training segments.
