Objectives: Subjective cognitive decline represents a critical stage for preventing mild cognitive impairment and dementia, but the links between clinical progression in the subjective cognitive decline stage and various motor functions remain inconclusive. This cohort study aimed to elucidate the independent and joint associations between the clinical progression of subjective cognitive decline and motor functions.

Methods: We enrolled 4880 community-dwelling elderly participants from a national cohort and used Cox proportional hazard regression model and restricted cubic spline models to explore the longitudinal associations between motor functions (gait, strength, balance, and endurance) and the clinical progression of subjective cognitive decline.

Using silica as the precursor, and methyltrimethoxysilane and dimethyldimethoxysilane as the silicon sources, a super-flexible hydrophobic lipophilic gel solid was prepared via hydrolysis, drying, solvent replacement, and atmospheric-pressure drying. The characterization test showed that the sample had good flexibility, hydrophobicity, an amorphous structure, and a hydrophobic contact angle of 137°. Through the adsorption separation experiment, it was concluded that the adsorption separation rate of aerogel to oil substances is related to the viscosity of the oil substances.

Background: There are more and more clinical studies on the efficacy of warm acupuncture in treating sciatica, but the systematic review of the efficacy of warm acupuncture is still lacking. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of warm acupuncture combined with conventional Western medicine in the treatment of sciatica.

Methods: The review was registered in the PROSPERO database (CRD42022379486) and was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.

Corneal neovascularization (CNV) is a sight-threatening condition usually associated with various inflammatory settings including chemical injury. High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) is identified as an inflammatory alarmin in diverse tissue damage. Here, we evaluate the expression of HMGB1 and the consequences of its inhibition through its selective inhibitor glycyrrhizin (GLY) in alkali burn-induced corneal inflammation and neovascularization.

Purpose: To investigate the protective effects of thymosin β4 (Tβ4) on ethanol injured human corneal keratocytes (HCKs).

Methods: HCKs and BALB/c mice were chosen as the study subject. Ethanol was used to treat the cells and corneal stroma of mice to build the ethanol injured model in vitro and vivo respectively.

In the paper, molecularly imprinted TiO was prepared by surface molecularly imprinted technology and liquid phase deposition method for preferential removal of persistent toxic pollutants from complex environmental water. Diclofenac was selected as the template molecule and target for photodegradation study. The characterization results of SEM, TEM, FTIR and XRD showed that the TiO film with imprinted diclofenac was successfully synthesized on the surface of TiO particles.

As environmental pollution and energy shortages have become global concerns, the construction of highly efficient catalysts using facile and green methods remains a long-term goal. In the present study, we proposed a facile catalyst preparation method in which Ag/TiO composites were coated on the surface of the porous pure inorganic crystalline vanadium phosphates (VPO) by a one-step strategy. More importantly, the in situ reduction of Ag nanoparticles was achieved at room temperature without severe conditions or hydrogen atmosphere in which the porous VPO was employed as the reductant.

Purpose: Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) is a pro-allergic cytokine that initiates allergic inflammatory reaction between epithelial and dendritic cells (DCs). miR-19b was reported to suppress TSLP expression. The present study aimed to examine miR-19b expression, regulation, and function in allergic conjunctivitis (AC).

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of cryopreserved amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) in corneal ulceration.

Methods: The following electronic databases were searched: PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library. We evaluated the corneal epithelium healing rate (CEHR) and vision improvement rate (VIR) after AMT in the treatment of corneal ulceration.
