Emerging evidence has shown that dioxin causes dysregulation of microRNAs (miRs) in a variety of tissues or cells. However, little is known about dioxin effects on neuronal miRs expression. In the present study, 277 differentially expressed miRs were identified by miRs microarray analysis in 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD, at 10 M) treated SK-N-SH neuroblastoma cells.

TRPV5 is a Ca-selective channel that plays a key role in the reabsorption of Ca ions in the kidney. Recently, a rare L530R variation (rs757494578) of TRPV5 was found to be associated with recurrent kidney stones in a founder population. However, it was unclear to what extent this variation alters the structure and function of TRPV5.

To increase the therapeutic safety and accuracy of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade, RNA interference through targeted gene delivery was performed in our study. We developed folic acid (FA)- and disulfide (SS)-polyethylene glycol (PEG)-conjugated polyethylenimine (PEI) complexed with superparamagnetic iron oxide FeO nanoparticles (SPIONs) as a siRNA-delivery system for PD-L1 knockdown.

To determine the surface and subsurface flows associated with different rainfall patterns on sloping Ferralsols under different land cover types, observational data related to surface and subsurface flows from 5 m × 15 m plots were collected from 2010 to 2012. The experiment was conducted to assess three land cover types (grass, litter cover and bare land) in the Jiangxi Provincial Soil and Water Conservation Ecological Park.

In this work, an accelerating etching method for glass named thermal electrical modified etching (TEM etching) is investigated. Based on the identification of the effect in anodic bonding, a novel method for glass structure micromachining is proposed using TEM etching. To validate the method, TEM-etched glasses are prepared and their morphology is tested, revealing the feasibility of the new method for micro/nano structure micromachining.

Similar to other protein phosphatases, PP5 has a conserved motif in the catalytic domain that contains two binding sites for manganese (Mn ) ions. Structural data indicate that two active site water molecules, one bridging the two Mn ions and the other terminally coordinated with one of the Mn ions (Mn1), are involved in catalysis.

Driven by the hydrophobicity of alkyl chain and π-π stacking effect of aryl, sensor 4 can undergo self-assembly to form an orderly rod-like structure in HO/THF (v/v, 90/10) solution, as shown by the dynamic light scattering (DLS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies. Sensor 4 shows high selectivity and sensitivity toward PA over other nitroaromatic explosives.

P1 exhibits very strong host-guest binding affinity towards adiponitrile but low binding affinity towards 1,4-dihalobutane and 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)butane.

However, the functional roles of these transcripts and the mechanisms responsible for their deregulation in colorectal cancer (CRC) remain elusive. A novel lincRNA termed upregulated in CRC (UCC) was found to be highly expressed in human CRC tissues and cell lines.

Tumor metastasis occurs naturally in pancreatic cancer, and the efficacy of chemotherapy is usually poor. Precision medicine, combining downregulation of target genes with chemotherapy drugs, is expected to improve therapeutic effects. Therefore, we developed a combined therapy of microRNA-21 antisense oligonucleotides (ASO-miR-21) and gemcitabine (Gem) using a targeted co-delivery nanoparticle (NP) carrier and investigated the synergistic inhibitory effects on pancreatic cancer cells metastasis and growth.

CC-1065 contains three benzodipyrroles (1a-, 1b-, and 1c-) of which the 1a-subunit is remarkable by being composed of a cyclopropane ring, and the mechanism for the biological formation of benzodipyrrole rings remains elusive. Previously, biosynthetic studies of CC-1065 were limited to radioactively labeled precursor feeding experiments, which showed that tyrosine (Tyr) and serine (Ser) were incorporated into the two benzodipyrrole (1b- and 1c-) subunits via the same mode but that this was different from the key cyclopropabenzodipyrrole (1a-) subunit with N1-C2-C3 derived from Ser.

In this context, titanium dioxide (TiO) and iron oxide (hematite, α-FeO) are among the most investigated candidates as photoanode materials, mainly owing to their resistance to photocorrosion, non-toxicity, natural abundance, and low production cost. Major drawbacks are, however, an inherently low electrical conductivity and a limited hole diffusion length that significantly affect the performance of TiO and α-FeO in PEC devices.

2,2-Dihydroxyarylethanones, readily prepared from the commercially available aromatic ethyl ketones, were reacted with resorcinol, 3-methoxyphenol or 2-methoxyphenol in multi steps one-pot manner promoted by trifluoroacetic acid to furnish the 2,3-diarylbenzofuran derivatives in 22-95% yield. Sixteen targeted compounds were synthesized and characterized by H NMR, C NMR and HRMS. MTT assay indicated that most compounds possessed effectively inhibitory activities against the proliferation of HeLa cell.

To improve the jetting performance of liquid metals, an electromagnetic micro-jetting (EMJ) valve that realizes drop-on-demand (DOD) jetting while not involving any valve core or moving parts was designed. The influence of the lead angle of the nozzle on the jetting of liquid metal gallium (Ga) was investigated. It was found that the Lorentz force component parallel to the nozzle that jets the electrified liquid Ga is always larger than its internal friction; thus, jet can be generated with any lead angle but with different kinetic energies.
