Electro-Fenton (EF) technology has shown great potential in environmental remediation. However, developing efficient heterogeneous EF catalysts and understanding the relevant reaction mechanisms for pollutant degradation remain challenging. We propose a new system that combines aluminum-air battery electrocoagulation (EC) with EF.

Pain is one of the most common clinical symptoms of cancer patients, seriously affecting the quality of life of patients and bringing heavy mental and economic burden to families and society. The treatment of cancer pain in China is facing numerous challenges, one of which includes the irrational usage of analgesic drugs in clinical practice. As a strong opioid analgesic, transdermal fentanyl patch has been widely used due to its convenient clinical application and obvious therapeutic effect.

Nowadays, screening for endometrial cancer (EC) primarily relies on clinical symptoms and imaging, which makes it difficult to detect early-stage disease. Here, we conducted a widely targeted lipidomic analysis of 38 human serum samples in a discovery set and 40 human serum samples in a validation set to profile the dysregulated lipid species and establish lipid biomarkers for early-stage EC. This comprehensive lipidomic determination of 616 serum lipids indicated significant differences between early-stage EC patients and healthy controls.

Introduction: This study aimed to identify whether interleukin-6 (IL-6) is better than C-reactive protein (CRP) for the prediction of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), infected pancreatic necrosis (IPN), and mortality.

Methods: Sixty-seven patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) who were hospitalized within 48 h of onset and received serum CRP and IL-6 tests from September 2018 to September 2019 were included. Spearman's correlation was performed to assess their associations with severity.

Purpose: To assess the potential role of nuclear auto-antigenic sperm protein (NASP) in the cellular sensitivity to 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) in breast cancer cells.

Methods: The expression of two NASP isotypes, namely somatic NASP (sNASP) and testis NASP (tNASP) in breast cancer lines were detected under 5-FU treatment using real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot assays. NASP effect on cellular viability and apoptosis under 5-FU treatment were evaluated.

Background: Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) participates in the development of various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Here, we attempted to reveal the underlying mechanism of PCSK9 in HCC.

Methods: Tumor tissues and adjacent tissues were separated from HCC patients to detect PCSK9 expression.

Purpose: Caregivers of stroke inpatients are at high risk of sleep disorder, which may lead to depressive symptoms. Self-efficacy has always been regarded as a protective factor against psychological disorders such as depressive symptoms. This study aims to investigate the sleep disorder and depressive symptoms of caregivers of stroke inpatients in China and explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy between sleep disorder and depressive symptoms among Chinese caregivers of stroke inpatients.

There are two common challenges in particle swarm optimization (PSO) research, that is, selecting proper exemplars and designing an efficient learning model for a particle. In this article, we propose a triple archives PSO (TAPSO), in which particles in three archives are used to deal with the above two challenges. First, particles who have better fitness (i.

Andrographolide, an active component in traditional anti-diabetic herbal plants, is a diterpenoid lactone isolated from Andrographis paniculata because of its potent anti-inflammatory and hypoglycemic effects. However, the effect of andrographolide on the development of diabetes in autoimmune non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of andrographolide on the development of autoimmune diabetes and clarify the underlying mechanism.

Objective: To observe the protective effect of Kang Naoxueshuan Tablet (KNT) on ischemic brain injury in rats, and explore its possible mechanism.

Methods: Rats were administrated with KNT twice per day for successive 14 days. Rat model of acute focal cerebral ischemia was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) with a nylon suture inserted through the right internal carotid artery to occlude the beginning of middle cerebral artery.
