Whilst SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines generate high neutralising antibodies (nAb) in most individuals, haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) and chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) recipients respond poorly. Background: The large-scale proteomic platform known as the SomaScan® assay is capable of simultaneously measuring thousands of proteins in patient specimens through next-generation aptamer-based multiplexed technology. While previous studies have utilized patient peripheral blood to suggest serum biomarkers of prognostic or diagnostic value in osteosarcoma (OSA), the most common primary pediatric bone cancer, they have ultimately been limited in the robustness of their analyses. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), known colloquially as "forever chemicals," have been associated with adverse human health effects and have contaminated drinking water supplies across the United States owing to their long-term and widespread use. People in the United States may unknowingly be drinking water that contains PFAS because of a lack of systematic analysis, particularly in domestic water supplies. Large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke, in which major cerebral arteries such as the internal carotid and middle cerebral arteries supplying the brain are occluded, is the most debilitating form of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). The current gold standard treatment for LVO stroke is mechanical thrombectomy, however, initial attempts to recanalize these large, proximal arteries supplying the brain fail in up to 75% of cases, leading to repeated passes that decrease the likelihood of success and affect patient outcomes. We report the design, fabrication, and testing of a 3 mm × 3 mm forward-treating US transducer with an acoustic metamaterial lens to dissolve blood clots recalcitrant to first pass mechanical thrombectomy in LVO stroke.

Hypoxia can trigger a sequence of breathing-related behaviors, from tachypnea to apneusis to apnea and gasping, an autoresuscitative behavior that, via large tidal volumes and altered intrathoracic pressure, can enhance coronary perfusion, carotid blood flow, and sympathetic activity, and thereby coordinate cardiac and respiratory functions. We tested the hypothesis that hypoxia-evoked gasps are amplified through a disinhibitory microcircuit within the inspiratory neuron chain and a distributed efference copy mechanism that generates coordinated gasp-like discharges concurrently in other circuits of the raphe-pontomedullary respiratory network.
