Clear aligner therapy and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders: a case report.

The etiology of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) is remarkably diverse. This case report highlights the use of clear aligners as a probable cofactor of TMD in an adult patient. A 56-year-old woman who presented with a chief concern of crowding was missing teeth in both arches and had generalized tooth wear, an indistinct history of temporomandibular joint musculoskeletal pain, and a self-reported history of clenching.

The use of miniplates for nontraditional orthodontic treatment: clinical considerations for referring general dentists.

Distalization of mandibular molars comes with significant challenges, especially in adult and young adult patients. In selected cases, third molar extraction procedures offer the opportunity to place miniplates for anchorage to distalize mandibular molars, providing additional solutions to the traditional extraction of premolars or a single incisor. This approach can be of special interest to adult patients, who may have life commitments and time restraints that limit traditional orthodontic and surgical treatment options, and it can improve the efficiency of dental care.

Prevalence of Decay and Tooth Condition Changes Adjacent to Restored Dental Implants: A Retrospective Radiographic Study.

This study examined the association between a dental implant and changes in adjacent teeth over time. Electronic health records of 1818 patients who received a dental implant were retrospectively evaluated over 14 years (2005-2019) in a university setting. The status of the adjacent tooth and vertical and horizontal distance from the implant platform to adjacent teeth were determined using digital intraoral radiographs taken at baseline and the last follow-up visit (1-14 years, median 4 years).

Optimizing the use of panoramic radiography for determining the position of impacted permanent maxillary canines.

The purpose of this research was to test the reliability of a modified magnification method for determining the position of an impacted canine from a single panoramic radiograph. This retrospective study evaluated 114 panoramic radiographs showing 136 impacted maxillary canines. The widths of the impacted canines, contralateral erupted canines, and ipsilateral maxillary incisors were measured, and ratios for the canine-incisor index (CII) and canine-canine index (CCI) were calculated.

Dental Implant Treatment in Bruxers: A Case Report and Literature Review.

This case report presents a literature review and a case report of a full-mouth implant rehabilitation for a 65-year-old woman with a history of Bruxism. One of the most critical clinical steps is establishing an anatomical occlusal plane based on hard and soft tissue references. The aim of this study was to determine whether age or gender affects the level of the Ala-Tragus plane to establish which reference point on the Tragus should be used when fabricating the occlusal plane in edentulous patients.

Effect of patients' attitude and perception of oral hygiene on white spot lesion development and plaque accumulation during orthodontic treatment : A survey of patients with fixed appliances.

Purpose: To explore the impact of oral hygiene practices, as well as beliefs and attitudes toward orthodontic treatment on white spot lesion (WSL) development and plaque accumulation in orthodontic patients.

Materials And Methods: A total of 106 individuals (61 female, 45 male) patients aged 10-49 years who were treated with fixed appliances treatment completed a 14-question survey regarding aspects of their oral hygiene (OH) and orthodontic visits. The number of teeth with WSL and the plaque indexes were recorded for each patient.

Interdisciplinary management of an adult orthodontic patient: a case report and literature review.

The purposes of this case report are to describe the course of treatment for a 29-year-old woman with a chief complaint of spaces in her dentition and to review relevant clinical topics in the literature. The primary etiology of the spacing in this case was a congenitally missing maxillary right lateral incisor and a peg-shaped maxillary left lateral incisor. The clinical diagnosis included skeletal and dental discrepancies in all 3 planes of space; a skeletal and dental open bite; a high and asymmetric smile line with a skeletal occlusal cant; a Class II dental occlusion; a Class III skeletal tendency; and insufficient space for standard-size restoration of the maxillary lateral incisors.

Characterization of 3D printed biodegradable piezoelectric scaffolds for bone regeneration.

Full-Mouth Rehabilitation With Implant-Prosthesis in Marfan Syndrome Patient: Clinical Report and Literature Review.

The purpose of this case report is to present implant-retained maxillary and mandibular complete overdentures in a patient with Marfan syndrome. The patient initially presented with generalized periodontitis (stage IV, grade C). Due to the progressive nature of periodontal disease, the patient elected to have implant-retained maxillary and mandibular complete dentures.

Full Mouth Implant-supported Rehabilitation of a Patient with Ectodermal Dysplasia: Clinical Report and Literature Review.

Objective: The purpose of this case report is to present the clinical course of full mouth rehabilitation in an 1 8-year-old female patient with ectodermal dysplasia who was treated with implant-supported fixed partial dentures for the mandible and the maxilla.

Case Report: Fourteen dental implants (8 in the maxilla and 6 in the mandible) were placed simultaneously after full mouth extraction and alveoloplasty surgery. After 6 months of healing, prosthetic rehabilitation was started for screw-retained fixed partial dentures.
