Air pollution remains a significant threat to human health and economic development. Most previous studies have examined the health effects of individual pollutants, which often overlook the combined impacts of multiple pollutants. The traditional composite indicator air quality index (AQI) only focuses on the major pollutants, whereas the health risk-based air quality index (HAQI) could offer a more comprehensive evaluation of the health effects of various pollutants on populations.

In this study, a fuzzy adaptive impedance control method integrating the backstepping control for the PAM elbow exoskeleton was developed to facilitate robot-assisted rehabilitation tasks. The proposed method uses fuzzy logic to adjust impedance parameters, thereby optimizing user adaptability and reducing interactive torque, which are major limitations of traditional impedance control methods. Furthermore, a repetitive learning algorithm and an adaptive control strategy were incorporated to improve the performance of position accuracy, addressing the time-varying uncertainties and nonlinear disturbances inherent in the exoskeleton.

Effective adaptive grasping capability is regarded as crucial for climbing robots. However, many dry adhesion legged climbing robots are primarily focused on mobility and load capacity to perform various climbing tasks, often overlooking their operational grasping abilities. Furthermore, flexible grippers designed for adaptive grasping are typically not capable of supporting autonomous climbing or perching motions; they must be rigidly integrated with legged climbing robots, which results in increased weight and reduced load capacity.

Urban expansion has the potentiality to disrupt ecosystems and form highly fragile urban landscapes. However, studies investigating the impact of different urban expansion patterns on the ecological environments are relatively limited. Taking the Yanhe river basin, a typical basin in a loess region, as a case study, we developed an ecological vulnerability assessment system as well as assessed the main drivers of ecological vulnerability for different time periods (1990, 2000, 2010 and 2018).

The soft manipulator actuated parallel with contractile and extensor pneumatic artificial muscles (PAMs) can perform continuous operations and vary stiffness. Due to the hysteresis nonlinearity of PAMs and parallel driving, the manipulator shows coupled hysteresis with stiffness-dependent and rate-dependent characteristics, causing inaccurate positioning performance. This paper firstly proposes a comprehensive dynamic model consisting of two parts in series to predict the manipulator dynamical behaviors with coupled hysteresis.
