New 11,20-Epoxybriaranes from the Gorgonian Coral (Ellisellidae).

Two new 11,20-epoxybriaranes, fragilides P () and Q (), as well as two known analogues, robustolide F () and juncin Z (), were obtained from the gorgonian coral . The structures, including the absolute configurations of briaranes and , were elucidated by using spectroscopic methods and comparing the spectroscopic and rotation data with those of known related analogues. Briarane decreased the generation of superoxide anions by human neutrophils.
