Novel coronavirus pneumonia, also known as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is caused by sub-severe acute respiratory syndrome type 2 coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) infection. The spike (S) protein of SARS-CoV-2 binds to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors widely expressed on the surface of human cells leading to life-threatening respiratory infections. A serious hazard to human health is posed by the lack of particular treatment medications for this virus infection.

Based on a Chinese echocardiography database, we analyzed the observed rate (OR) and spectrum changes of CHD over the past 18 years with a focus on the congenital aortic valve malformation (CAVM) and Adult CHD (ACHD).
Methods And Results: The transthoracic echocardiographic data of 682,565 records from 2003 to 2020 were retrospectively reviewed at Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, China.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that selectively involves motor neurons. Neurotrophic factor supplementation and neural stem cell (NSC) alternative therapy have been used to treat ALS. The two approaches can affect each other in their pathways of action, and there is a possibility for synergism.

Although accumulating evidence demonstrates that miR-150, an important regulator in hematopoiesis, is deregulated in various types of hematopoietic malignancies, the precise mechanisms of miR-150 action are largely unknown. In this study, we found that miR-150 is downregulated in samples from patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, and chronic myeloid leukemia, and normalized after patients achieved complete remission.

Background: There are no data regarding the results of transvenous versus transthoracic catheter-based device closure of PDA with Amplatzer duct occluder (ADO) despite their increasing use as alternatives to conventional surgery.
Methods: In this observational study, a total of 150 consecutive patients with PDA were allocated either to the transvenous approach (group A, n = 108) and the transthoracic approach (group B, n = 42) by using ADO between January 2010 and April 2012.
The methanol (MeOH) extract of the twigs and leaves of Aglaia duperreana was investigated for its molluscicidal activity against Pomacea canaliculata. The extract was found to exhibit significant molluscicidal activity. The ethyl acetate soluble fraction of the extract showed the most potent molluscicidal activity among different solvent fractions.
