Objective: To compare conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI), and perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) characteristics in different grades of trigone meningiomas.

Methods: Thirty patients with trigone meningiomas were enrolled in this retrospective study. Conventional MRI was performed in all patients; SWI (17 cases), dynamic contrast-enhanced PWI (10 cases), and dynamic susceptibility contrast PWI (6 cases) were performed.

Introduction: Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSPs) are uncommon but not rare neurodegenerative diseases. Achieving Molecular Fluorescent Conversion from Aggregation-Caused Quenching to Aggregation-Induced Emission by Positional Isomerization.

In this work, we synthesized a pair of positional isomers by attaching a small electron-donating pyrrolidinyl group at ortho- and para-positions of a conjugated core. These isomers exhibited totally different fluorescent properties. PDB2 exhibited obvious aggregation-induced emission properties.

Novel Three-Dimensional-Printing Strategy Based on Dynamic Urea Bonds for Isotropy and Mechanical Robustness of Large-Scale Printed Products.

Additive manufacturing via fused deposition modeling (FDM) has become one of the most widely used technologies owing to its ease of operation and effective cost. However, the disappointing interlayer adhesion produced by FDM often results in inferior mechanical properties, which has become a technical bottleneck for industrial production. Herein, we demonstrate a facile and efficient printing strategy to enhance interlayer adhesion by introducing a self-healing mechanism into the printing material, thereby concurrently enhancing the mechanical properties and isotropy of the printed products.

Integrated physiological and transcriptomic analyses of two warm- and cool-season turfgrass species in response to heat stress.

Warm- and cool-season turfgrasses were originated from different locations with contrasting heat tolerance. The molecular mechanisms of heat tolerance have not been extensively studied in turfgrass species. In this study, transcriptomic analysis showed that bermudagrass was more tolerant to heat stress as evidenced by lower contents of HO, proline and glutathione than those in tall fescue after heat treatment.

Determining Appropriate Screening Tools and Cutoffs for Cognitive Impairment in the Chinese Elderly.

The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) are the most commonly used tools for cognitive impairment screening. The present study aimed to investigate the ability of the MOCA and MMSE to differentiate between cognitively normal elderly individuals, MCI patients and dementia patients at different ages and education levels and to establish the optimal cutoff scores of the MoCA and MMSE for MCI and dementia in the Chinese elderly. A total of 2,954 Chinese elderly individuals, including 1,746 normal controls, 599 MCI patients and 249 dementia patients, were consecutively recruited in the study.

Automatic Recognition of Ocular Surface Diseases on Smartphone Images Using Densely Connected Convolutional Networks.

Ocular surface disorder is one of common and prevalence eye diseases and complex to be recognized accurately. This work presents automatic classification of ocular surface disorders in accordance with densely connected convolutional networks and smartphone imaging. We use various smartphone cameras to collect clinical images that contain normal and abnormal, and modify end-to-end densely connected convolutional networks that use a hybrid unit to learn more diverse features, significantly reducing the network depth, the total number of parameters and the float calculation.

Detection of T Follicular Helper Cells and T Follicular Regulatory Cells in Experimental Sjögren's Syndrome.

With the compiling studies on the autoimmune pathogenesis in the developing of Sjögren's syndrome, the functional importance of T follicular helper cells (Tfh) and T follicular regulatory cells (Tfr) was investigated, including our recent findings, among which various techniques for detecting Tfh and Tfr cells in Sjögren's syndrome have been reported. In this chapter, we describe detailed methods for the effective detection of Tfh and Tfr cells in mice with experimental Sjögren's syndrome (ESS), a mouse model with evident salivary hypofunction, increased serum levels of autoantibodies, and histopathological changes in the salivary glands. We provide representative detections of surface markers, cytokines, and transcription factors of Tfh and Tfr cells by flow cytometry and ELISpot assay.

Genome-wide profiling in colorectal cancer identifies PHF19 and TBC1D16 as oncogenic super enhancers.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. Although genomic mutations and single nucleotide polymorphisms have been extensively studied, the epigenomic status in colorectal cancer patient tissues remains elusive. Here, together with genomic and transcriptomic analysis, we use ChIP-Seq to profile active enhancers at the genome wide level in colorectal cancer paired patient tissues (tumor and adjacent tissues from the same patients).

Attempt of Real-Time Near-Infrared Fluorescence Imaging Using Indocyanine Green (ICG) in Radical Resection of Gallbladder Cancer: A Case Report.

Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for resectable gallbladder cancer. Near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging using ICG is an innovation in laparoscopic surgery, which can provide real-time navigation during the whole operation. In this article, we present a 56-year older woman with gallbladder cancer, in which we evaluated the applicability of NIRF imaging using ICG for tumor and biliary tree visualization during the operative procedure of gallbladder cancer.

Micro-Computed Tomography-Guided Artificial Intelligence for Pulp Cavity and Tooth Segmentation on Cone-beam Computed Tomography.

Introduction: This study proposes a novel data pipeline based on micro-computed tomographic (micro-CT) data for training the U-Net network to realize the automatic and accurate segmentation of the pulp cavity and tooth on cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) images.

Methods: We collected CBCT data and micro-CT data of 30 teeth. CBCT data were processed and transformed into small field of view and high-resolution CBCT images of each tooth.
