Heterostructures composed of graphene (Gr) and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) establish a new platform for optoelectronic applications. A substantial amount of research has concentrated on the interfacial charge transfer (CT) within heterostructures, yet investigations into the nonlinear effects occurring within these heterostructures have been relatively scarce. Utilizing terahertz (THz) emission spectroscopy, we demonstrate the synergistic interaction between interfacial CT and nonlinear photocurrent within the Gr/MoS heterostructure.

Health benefit effects of bioactive compounds depend on their bioavailabilities, which could vary according to factors including food matrix and digestion environment. To understand the "bioaccessible" health benefit of red pitay pulp, the INFOGEST static in vitro simulation of gastrointestinal (GI) digestion model and targeted metabolomics method were applied to unravel the fates of bioactive compounds in the whole food of red pitaya pulp during GI digestion. The antioxidant activity as one of the health benefit indices was also assessed to compare the changes in bioactive properties of red pitaya pulp.

Litchi is popular among consumers due to its delicious taste, however, the extremely short shelf life limits its commercial value. Few studies have been conducted to develop new technologies to extend the shelf life of litchi. Therefore, this study applied a novel technique (low voltage electrostatic field, LVEF) combined with ice-temperature (0 °C) treatment on litchi and evaluated its quality characteristics during storage.

The phosphorylation of three highly conserved serine residues S23, S24, and S25 (S-S-S motif) has been previously identified in NEP of influenza virus. However, it remains obscure whether and how this motif regulates the vRNPs nuclear export. Here the influenza A H5N6 viruses harboring NEP S23C, S24L, or S25L is generated, allowing to impair the phosphorylation on these sites without mutating viral NS1 protein.

The COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbated by persistent viral mutations, underscored the urgent need for diverse inhibitors targeting multiple viral proteins. In this study, we utilized covalent DNA-encoded libraries to discover innovative triazine-based covalent inhibitors for the 3-chymotrypsin-like protease (3CL, Nsp5) and the papain-like protease (PL) domains of Nsp3, as well as novel non-nucleoside covalent inhibitors for the nonstructural protein 12 (Nsp12, RdRp). Optimization through molecular docking and medicinal chemistry led to the development of , a nonpeptide 3CL inhibitor with an IC of 0.

Segment anything model (SAM), a foundation model with superior versatility and generalization across diverse segmentation tasks, has attracted widespread attention in medical imaging. However, it has been proved that SAM would encounter severe performance degradation due to the lack of medical knowledge in training and local feature encoding. Though several SAM-based models have been proposed for tuning SAM in medical imaging, they still suffer from insufficient feature extraction and highly rely on high-quality prompts.

As a representative of zeolitic imidazolate framework glass, agZIF-62 has been reported to be synthesized using a melt-quenching method in which the ZIF-62 crystal is heated to a temperature above the melting point. Interestingly, we unexpectedly found that agZIF-62 can also be synthesized by simple heating at temperatures lower than the melting point, which may be assisted by the release of encapsulated solvent molecules. The structural differences between melt-quenched agZIF-62 (MQ-agZIF-62) and heat-cooled agZIF-62 (HC-agZIF-62) were investigated.

Background: Previous meta-analyses have investigated the efficacy of lipid-lowering therapies for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease; however, few have focused on patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). This meta-analysis aimed to compare the benefits of intensive lipid-lowering therapy with those of background statin therapy in patients with ACS.

Methods: Searches were performed on PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and ClinicalTrials.

Nuclear export of the viral ribonucleoprotein (vRNP) is a critical step in the influenza A virus (IAV) life cycle and may be an effective target for the development of anti-IAV drugs. The host factor ras-related nuclear protein (RAN) is known to participate in the life cycle of several viruses, but its role in influenza virus replication remains unknown. In the present study, we aimed to determine the function of RAN in influenza virus replication using different cell lines and subtype strains.

Background: Chemotaxis and trafficking of dendritic cells (DCs) induced by cytokine receptors are crucial steps in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis. C-C chemokine receptor type 5 (CCR5) plays a key role in DC movement and has been implicated in multitudinous inflammatory and immunology diseases. Thus, targeting CCR5 to suppress DC chemotaxis is considered as a potential strategy for the management of RA.
