Aims: Osseous invasion exhibited in soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) is recognized as a prognostic risk factor. Achieving a wide margin is the default surgical approach for local control. However, for STSs where the tumour is in contact with the adjacent cortex but without clear evidence of osseous invasion, such as medullary invasion, the question of whether bone resection can provide better local control or survival than more conservative sub-periosteal excision remains controversial.

Article Synopsis
  • Lung metastasis is a major cause of cancer death, with few effective treatments; T helper 9 (T9) cells show potential in treating tough cases like lung metastases, but more research on their biology is needed.* ! -
  • The study involved transferring T1, T9, and T17 cells into different cancer models to compare their effectiveness, using techniques like flow cytometry and RNA sequencing to investigate the reasons behind T9 cells' superior ability to reach the lungs.* ! -
  • Results revealed that T9 cells have a stronger ability to target lung metastases due to the CXCR4-CXCL12 pathway, and disabling CXCR4 reduces T9 cells' presence in the lungs, highlighting their

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the challenges in diagnosing primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma (PMBL) due to its similarities with other lymphomas and low incidence, using data from 51 PMBL cases and 375 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL-NOS) instances.
  • - Results show that RHOF expression is significantly higher in PMBL compared to DLBCL-NOS, indicating that RHOF is a better diagnostic marker than traditional markers like CD23 and CD30, with ROC curve analysis supporting its usefulness.
  • - High levels of RHOF are also linked to poorer overall and progression-free survival in PMBL patients, suggesting that RHOF has potential for improving diagnosis and prognosis in clinical settings.

Aims: For rare cases when a tumour infiltrates into the hip joint, extra-articular resection is required to obtain a safe margin. Endoprosthetic reconstruction following tumour resection can effectively ensure local control and improve postoperative function. However, maximizing bone preservation without compromising surgical margin remains a challenge for surgeons due to the complexity of the procedure.

Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare and clinically heterogeneous non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and its diagnosis relies on established clinical, radiologic, histopathological criteria. ECD can be evaluated by whole-body preoperative imaging methods. Although F-FDG PET/CT shows negative findings in some splenic benign or borderline lesions, such as splenic inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors and hemangioendotheliomas, it can provide value in differentiating some malignant diseases, such as hemangiosarcoma and metastases.

Human Vγ9Vδ2 T cells have attracted considerable attention as novel alternative antigen-presenting cells (APCs) with the potential to replace dendritic cells in antitumor immunotherapy owing to their high proliferative capacity and low cost. However, the utility of γδ T cells as APCs to induce CD8 T cell-mediated antitumor immune response, as well as the mechanism by which they perform APC functions, remains unexplored. In this study, we found that activated Vγ9Vδ2 T cells were capable of inducing robust CD8 T cell responses in osteosarcoma cells.
