Eu3+-doped REVO4 nanphosphors were controllably synthesized by an EDTA-mediated hydrothermal method at 180 degrees C using RE(NO3)3 and Na3VO4 as precursors. The obtained products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The XRD results showed that the products were pure tetragonal structure and no other impurity phase appeared.

In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(14)H(14)N(2))], the central Zn(II) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral environment by two N atoms of the ligand 2-[(2,6-dimethyl-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]pyridine and two chloride anions. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are connected through C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds between a C-H group of the ligand and a Cl(-) anion, leading to a chain-like structure along the b direction.

Methods: Consecutive acute ischaemic stroke patients who underwent emergent brain computed tomography angiography and bedside power motion transcranial Doppler were studied. Depth ranges for detecting anterior and posterior circulation vessels were derived from power motion transcranial Doppler flow tracks and computed tomography angiography images of the circle of Willis.
Background: We aimed to evaluate the ability of commercially available computed tomography perfusion (CTP) prognostic maps software to identify reversibly and irreversibly damaged brain functions in the best case scenario: patients who achieved early and complete tissue reperfusion.
Methods: Consecutive ischemic stroke patients who received reperfusion therapies, those with early (less than two-hours from treatment initiation) and complete Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction grade III or equivalent reperfusion were included in the analysis. Computed tomography perfusion prognostic maps were assigned as 'red,' or irreversible if cerebral blood volume declined below 2 ml/100 g and 'green,' or recoverable if the affected/unaffected mean transit time ratio was >1.
Background And Purpose: Intracranial atherosclerotic disease is associated with a high risk of stroke recurrence. We aimed to determine accuracy of transcranial Doppler screening at laboratories that share the same standardized scanning protocol.
Methods: Patients with symptoms of cerebral ischemia were prospectively studied.
Unilateral limb shaking has been described as brief, repetitive jerking movements of arm and leg, resembling seizures and attributed to transient cerebral ischemia. We report a patient with numerous episodes of whole body shaking in the setting of bilateral carotid occlusions as well as vertebral stenoocclusive disease. These episodes of whole body shaking occurred in the presence of bilateral intracranial blood flow steal phenomenon.

We sought to determine safety and tolerability of NIVC initiated on hospital admission without polysomnography study.
Subjects And Methods: Consecutive acute ischemic stroke patients were evaluated for the presence of a proximal arterial occlusion, daytime sleepiness, or history of obstructive sleep apnea, and acceptable pulse oximetry readings while awake (96%-100% on 2 to 4 L supplemental oxygen delivered by nasal cannula).

Error analysis is playing an important role in the application of the remote sensing data and model. A theoretical analysis of error sensitivities in land surface temperature (LST) retrieval using radiance transfer model (RT) is introduced, which was applied to a new thermal infrared remote sensing data of HJ-1B satellite(IRS4). The modification of the RT model with MODTRAN 4 for IRS4 data is mentioned.

Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of cardiovascular diseases in the world. Although the development of atherosclerosis appears to be the result of multiple maladaptive pathways, a particularly important factor in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis is oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL), which contributes to endothelial damage. Data from our laboratory and others show that follistatin-related protein (FRP), which is expressed in the vasculature, has cardioprotective effects, suggesting that loss of FRP protection might play a role in the development of atherosclerosis.
