Undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver: A rare hepatic tumor and its related characteristic radiological features.

The undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver is a rare tumor with a poor prognosis, with improved outcomes being reported with more recently multimodality treatments. We report a case of a 6-year-old girl with an incidentally diagnosed and histologically proven localized undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver. The divergence between solid appearance at US and cystic-like appearance on CT/MRI, which has been attributed to the presence of myxoid component frequently described with this tumor, was crucial for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment.

Monitoring chemical compositional changes of simulated spilled Brazilian oils under tropical climate conditions by multiple analytical techniques.

To comprehensively understand the chemical changes over time of spilled oils subject to tropical climate conditions and the active weathering processes, a spill simulation experiment was conducted along 210 days with two distinct Brazilian oils (19 and 24 API) under irradiation and non-irradiation of sunlight. Isoprenoids and n-alkanes showed a great loss after 40 days for both oils under the two conditions due to evaporation. Diagnostic ratios of saturated biomarkers showed no changes, whereas the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons had a decreasing concentration under both conditions mainly due to evaporation.

An early experience on the effect of solid organ transplant status on hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

We compared the outcome of COVID-19 in immunosuppressed solid organ transplant (SOT) patients to a transplant naïve population. In total, 10 356 adult hospital admissions for COVID-19 from March 1, 2020 to April 27, 2020 were analyzed. Data were collected on demographics, baseline clinical conditions, medications, immunosuppression, and COVID-19 course.

We assessed cognitive function in 496 individuals with CAD using the verbal and visual memory subtests of the Wechsler Memory Scale and executive functioning measured by the Trail Making Test Parts A and B.

Effects of MT lesions on visuomotor performance in macaques.

Monkeys with selective bilateral lesions of area MT were trained on tasks designed to examine visuomotor function. Objective: The aim of this study was to report on clinical experience in Brazil in the dental treatment and the oral conditions of a group of patients with hereditary angioedema (HAE).

Coordination of Eu Activators in ZnAlEu Layered Double Hydroxides Intercalated by Isophthalate and Nitrilotriacetate.

Luminescent layered double hydroxides (LDH) intercalated by isophthalate (ISO) and nitrilotriacetate (NTA) have been synthesized and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS), elemental analysis (ICP-OES and CHN), and photoluminescence spectroscopy. While PXRD shows the successful formation of ZnAlEu LDHs, EXAFS reveals that the Eu activators are hosted in the hydroxide layers with an eightfold, oxygen-rich coordination, distinct from the sixfold coordination expected for the octahedral sites of metal cations in LDHs. This kind of coordination should locally distort the brucite-like layers.
