Purpose: To investigate the effect of postoperative pregnancy on maternal-infant outcomes and transplanted kidney function in kidney transplantation (KT) recipients.
Methods: Our study included 104 KT recipients and 104 non-KT women who delivered at four hospitals affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine from December 2015 to November 2023.
Results: In the KT group, kidney function showed a downward trend after delivery, and most patients recovered normal kidney function within 6 months postpartum.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis study aimed to elucidate the expression patterns of miR-33 and ARC in both a rat model of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and human TLE patients, to explore the role of miR-33 in epilepsy onset through its regulation of ARC expression in the hippocampus. Our findings, supported by a Dual-Luciferase reporter assay, suggest that miR-33 can bind to the 3' UTR region of ARC. We observed that miR-33 levels were reduced at 1 hour and 60 days post-seizure, while ARC expression notably increased at these time points.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The relationship between lifestyle and migraine is complex, as it remains uncertain which specific lifestyle factors play the most prominent role in the development of migraine, or which modifiable metabolic traits serve as mediators in establishing causality.
Methods: Independent genetic variants strongly associated with 20 lifestyle factors were selected as instrumental variables from corresponding genome-wide association studies (GWASs). Summary-level data for migraine were obtained from the FinnGen consortium (18,477 cases and 287,837 controls) as a discovery set and the GWAS meta-analysis data (26,052 cases and 487,214 controls) as a replication set.
Monoclonal antibodies are commonly engineered with an introduction of Met428Leu and Asn434Ser, known as the LS mutation, in the fragment crystallizable region to improve pharmacokinetic profiles. The LS mutation delays antibody clearance by enhancing binding affinity to the neonatal fragment crystallizable receptor found on endothelial cells. To characterize the LS mutation for monoclonal antibodies targeting HIV, we compared pharmacokinetic parameters between parental versus LS variants for five pairs of anti-HIV immunoglobin G1 monoclonal antibodies (VRC01/LS/VRC07-523LS, 3BNC117/LS, PGDM1400/LS PGT121/LS, 10-1074/LS), analyzing data from 16 clinical trials of 583 participants without HIV.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This secondary cross-protocol analysis included 4 multicenter, international, randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled, COVID-19 vaccine efficacy trials with harmonized protocols established by the COVID-19 Prevention Network.
Background: The phase 2b proof-of-concept Antibody Mediated Prevention (AMP) trials showed that VRC01, an anti-HIV-1 broadly neutralising antibody (bnAb), prevented acquisition of HIV-1 sensitive to VRC01. To inform future study design and dosing regimen selection of candidate bnAbs, we investigated the association of VRC01 serum concentration with HIV-1 acquisition using AMP trial data.
Methods: The case-control sample included 107 VRC01 recipients who acquired HIV-1 and 82 VRC01 recipients who remained without HIV-1 during the study.
