Seminatural habitats in agroecosystems support diverse communities of natural enemies and are expected to promote biological control in crop fields. However, complex landscapes may also support agricultural pests, with undesirable outcomes for crop production. Here, we monitored populations of leafhopper pests and their egg parasitoids in two habitats: vineyards and seminatural habitats.

Several insect pests are known to infest but none have been associated with plant growth alterations. Eriophyoid mites are well known to cause plant malformations, but mites that cause this type of damage to mamey sapote have not been reported.

We previously developed and validated a signature reflecting low TSG expression (TSG) that was associated with poor outcomes in patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) treated with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) ± docetaxel. The aim of this multicenter retrospective study was to validate the TSG signature in patients with mHSPC treated with ADT and an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI) and to explore clinical characteristics at progression according to TSG status.

This study aimed at performing the retrograde flushing technique, for the first time, in the tomcat. In the first experiment attempts to insert a blunted needle into tomcats' ductus deferentes were made and the cannulation time and the success rate were recorded.

The eriophyid mite overwintered into buds and the density of active mites inside them from winter 2017 to spring 2018 was higher than that in winter 2018-spring 2019. In the second half of March 2018 and in winter 2018-spring 2019, the mite density inside the buds decreased gradually with a peak of emergence occurring at the beginning of plant blossoming.

The admission electrocardiogram showed a moderately responsive atrial fibrillation rhythm with frequent ventricular extra systoles. A transthoracic echocardiogram was performed which showed mitral valve prolapse with severe impairment of ventricular function.

We conducted an extensive survey of Pentatomoidea fauna in the Alta Murgia National Park, a Site of Community Importance, and neighbouring areas located in central part of Apulia region. The survey was carried out in 2016, 2017 and 2020, sampling different habitat types.

For many years, antibiotics have been used at sub-therapeutic doses to promote animal growth and misused as prophylactics and metaphylactic on farms. The widespread and improper use of antibiotics has resulted in a serious problem, defined as antibiotic resistance by the World Health Organisation, which is a major public health threat in the 21st century.

The aim of this study was to test the in vitro bacteriocidal action of an Ozone/Oxygen gas mixture on bacteria isolated from the cervico-vaginal mucus of cows affected by acute metritis. A pilot study was initially carried out on reference strains (Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Mycoplasma bovigenitalium ATCC 19852) that were tested with three different treatments: a control positive baseline group (B-group) was incubated without gas treatment, a control positive oxygen group (O-group) was treated with pure oxygen 100%, and the treated group (T-group) was exposed to a gaseous constant flow of an Ozone/Oxygen mixture, at 50, 35, 20 μg Ozone/ml and for 5, 3 and 1 min for every different Ozone concentration.

Based on the hypothesis that deficiency in uterine contractility is a cause of Repeat Breeder (RB) syndrome in cows, this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of scopolamine administration in RB cows, on the day of heat, in increasing conception rates. Forty RB cows were randomly divided into treated group [T; 20 cows treated with scopolamine butylbromide 40 mg/100 kg of body weight (BW) by the intramuscular (IM) route after clinical confirmation of heat (T0)] and the control group [C; 20 cows treated with 2 mL/100 kg of BW of saline solution, IM, at T0].

Fifty-two monolateral cryptorchid pigs were enrolled. After anaesthesia, 42 pigs (Group U) underwent ultrasound examination before cryptorchidectomy, and 10 pigs (Group C) were used as control group without ultrasonography.

The objective of this study was to analyze the characteristics of cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) performed in patients with a history of COVID-19, comparing subjects according to the presence of post-COVID-19 syndrome.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed.
The taxonomy of appears to be an unresolved question and its clarification is required, owing to the potential relevance of this mite species as a biological control agent of the tree of heaven. This paper is aimed at giving accurate details on a previously and shortly announced synonymization with using a morphological and molecular approach. A fusiform morph of was distinguished from a vermiform morph and this latter was recognized as deutogyne, which was herein documented.

In the current study were monitored: increased blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate to identify an acute intraoperative nociceptive response. These parameters were registered at six times during the surgical procedure: grasping of the ovary (time 1), dissection of the mesosalpinx (time 2), tightening of the first loop ligature (time 3), tightening of the second loop ligature (time 4), transection of the ovarian pedicle (time 5) and release of the ovary (time 6).

Tree of heaven () is a fast-growing deciduous tree native to China, considered a serious invasive species worldwide, with several socio-economic and ecological impacts attributed to it. Chemical and mechanical methods have limited efficacy in its management, and biological controls may offer a suitable and sustainable option. (Ripka) is an eriophyid mite that has been recorded to attack tree of heaven in 13 European countries.

It is not known whether this deposition changes over time in absence of specific therapy. We repeated in two years a PET/CT scan using 18F-NaF as a radiopharmaceutical in patients with the disease and compared the deposition at skin and vessel.

However, so far, only a few species have been approved for release.

Management of the Mediterranean flat-headed root-borer, Capnodis tenebrionis, is critical due to the larvae's root localization. Neonate larvae can be exposed to natural enemies before penetrating the roots. Application of strain Mb7 and strain GHA formulations on rice granules was investigated for their efficacy against larvae.
