Neuroendocrine tumor metastases to the pancreas are rare, and they share substantial overlap with the significantly more common primary pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms, representing a potential diagnostic pitfall. Elucidating whether a neuroendocrine tumor within the pancreas is a primary neoplasm versus a metastasis has significant prognostic and treatment implications. Correlation with clinical history and imaging as well as incorporating an appropriate immunohistochemical panel are essential to establish the correct diagnosis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: The aim of this retrospective analysis was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of the latest-generation digital positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scanner in the detection of cervical lymph node metastasis in patients undergoing staging work-up for head and neck cancer.
Materials And Methods: A total of 55 consecutive patients with head and neck cancer at our institution who had a PET/CT after installation of the latest-generation PET/CT (Siemens Biograph Vision) who subsequently underwent surgical neck dissection were included. The nodal station location and number of reported PET/CT-positive metastatic lymph nodes were compared to a gold standard of final surgical pathology after neck dissection.
Purpose: The aim of our study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of CT-guided biopsy of lung nodules ≤10 mm based on their lobar and segmental location.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective study performed on 193 CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsies of lung nodules ≤10 mm in greatest dimension, between January 1, 2013 and April 30, 2019. Biopsies were classified as either diagnostic or non-diagnostic based on final cytology and surgical pathology reports.
