Defects such as grain boundaries (GBs) are almost inevitable during the synthesis process of 2D materials. To take advantage of the fascinating properties of 2D materials, understanding the nature and impact of various GB structures on pristine 2D sheets is crucial. In this work, using an evolutionary algorithm search, we predict a wide variety of silicene GB structures with very different atomic structures compared with those found in graphene or hexagonal boron-nitride.

Precise subclassification of myeloid malignancies per the World Health Organization (WHO) classification system and the International Consensus Classification of Myeloid Neoplasms and Acute Leukaemias (ICC) requires investigation and documentation of the presence of cytogenetic and/or molecular genetic changes. While reports on the long-term pathology in mismatched allografts have been focused on the donor and recipient body surface area, evidence is emerging to support donor-recipient age difference as an additional prognostic factor. Most reports are based on pediatric recipients receiving older/bigger allografts. Here, we describe three cases with age mismatch including two cases of adult patients receiving pediatric allografts and a third case of a younger patient receiving an allograft from an older donor exhibiting findings not described in extant literature.

Despite being bio-epidemiological phenomena, the causes and effects of pandemics are culturally influenced in ways that go beyond national boundaries. However, they are often studied in isolated pockets, and this fact makes it difficult to parse the unique influence of specific cultural psychologies. To help fill in this gap, the present study applies existing cultural theories linear mixed modeling to test the influence of unique cultural factors in a multi-national sample (that moves beyond Western nations) on the effects of age, biological sex, and political beliefs on pandemic outcomes that include adverse financial impacts, adverse resource impacts, adverse psychological impacts, and the health impacts of COVID.

Nodular histiocytic/mesothelial hyperplasia (NHMH) is a rare histologic entity, characterized by localized benign reactive proliferation of histiocytes and mesothelial cells.
