Members of the cyclic nucleotide-gated channel (CNGC) proteins are reportedly involved in a variety of biotic and abiotic responses and stomatal movement. However, it is unknown if and how a single member could regulate multiple responses. Here we characterized three closely related CNGC genes in rice, OsCNGC14, OsCNGC15 and OsCNGC16, to determine whether they function in multiple abiotic stresses.

In this study, we investigated the involvement of NTL in the reproductive behaviors of a major invasive pest, Spodoptera frugiperda. We identified NTL precursor-encoded transcripts, and evaluated their transcript levels in different stages and tissues of S.

It was to explore the detection efficiency of novel nano microfluidic chips on circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in pancreatic cancer (PC) patients and the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the life indicators of patients after PC surgery. PC, benign pancreas, and healthy volunteers were enrolled. The number and positive rate of CTCs in the subjects, the relationship between the number of CTCs in PC patients and clinical data, the recurrence rate, and the life indicators of patients after intervention were sorted out and analyzed.

As a first step toward determining the effect of different solid culture media, temperature, and pH on colony growth rate and sporulation, we evaluated the optimum solid medium for mycelial growth and conidia production on a commercial scale. Subsequently, we also used single-factor analysis and response surface optimization to optimize the composition of the solid culture medium.

Using an integrated approach of multiomics, we identified neuropeptide precursors in the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella, which is a harmful pest of honeybee hives with a worldwide distribution. Here, a total of 63 and 67 neuropeptide precursors were predicted and annotated in the G.

The detection of routine gene mutations must be performed after the preparation of paraffin samples in a standard polymerase chain reaction (PCR) laboratory, which is time-consuming. The Idylla™ EGFR fully automatic PCR system for rapid detection requires no special detection environment and completes the process in only 2.

At present, it is difficult to know which type of MSC is most suitable for acute liver failure (ALF), and there is no parallel study to compare MSCs from different tissues of the same donor.
Methods: In this study, we derived MSCs from three different perinatal tissues of the same donor: cord lining (CL), cord-placenta junction (CPJ) and fetal placenta (FP), respectively, for compared gene expression profiles by transcriptome sequencing, and ability of proliferation and immune regulation in vitro.
This study aimed to compare the application value of capillary electrophoresis and next-generation sequencing for immunoglobulin (IG) gene rearrangement in the diagnosis of classic Hodgkin's lymphoma. Twenty paraffin-embedded specimens from patients with classic Hodgkin's lymphoma were screened. For gene rearrangement detection, the ABI 3500 Genetic Analyzer and ABI Ion GeneStudio S5 Plus sequencing system were used, respectively, and the results were compared.

The Notch signaling pathway has been implicated in the regulation of cell fate decisions such as differentiation of BMSCs. This study investigated changes in the expression of Notch-related genes in the differentiation of BMSCs in vitro into dopaminergic (DA) neuron-like cells.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAccumulating evidence has indicated that a group of novel molecules, known as transfer RNA (tRNA)-derived fragments (tRFs) and tRNA halves (tiRNAs), which are derived from tRNAs, serve an essential role in numerous types of human disease, in particular solid tumors. However, to the best of our knowledge, the underlying mechanisms of the effect of tRFs and tiRNAs in lung adenocarcinoma have not been reported. The present study aimed to determine the differential expression levels of tRFs and tiRNAs in lung adenocarcinoma and adjacent tissues using a NextSeq system, and further investigated their potential target genes via bioinformatics analysis.

The heat shock response (HSR) in the cytosol and nucleus, as well as the unfolded protein response (UPR) in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), are two mechanisms that enable plants to survive heat stress. Excessive heat or ER stresses lead to cell death when the UPR cannot repair stress damage, but the means by which cell survival or death is determined remains unclear.

Methods: hPESCs on human foreskin fibroblast feeder layers were induced to differentiate into DE using a combination of 50 ng/ml activin A and 25 ng/ml Wnt3a. Expression of the DE markers CXCR4, E-cadherin (ECD), Sox17, and Goosecoid (Gsc) were examined using flow cytometry and real-time quantitative PCR.
microRNAs (miRNAs), a kind of small noncoding RNAs, are considered able to regulate expression of genes and mediate RNA silencing. miR-129-5p was shown to be a cancer-related miRNA. However, the influence of miR-129-5p in rectal adenocarcinoma (READ) development remains to be determined.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA series of the anhydrous lanthanide-based metal-organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) were successfully synthesized under hydrothermal conditions of Ln(iii) ions with 3,4'-oxybis(benzoate) (3,4'-oba), oxalate (ox) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). Structural analyses revealed that they are isostructural 3D open-frameworks with the formula of [Ln(3,4'-oba) (phen)(ox)] (Ln = Sm for 1, Eu for 2, Gd for 3, Tb for 4, and Dy for 5) and the topology of {3·4·5·6}. Within the 3D structure, the [LnON] units are bridged by ox to form [Lnox] dimers and then are further connected by 3,4'-oba ligands.

Retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinicopathological data of 74 patients who were diagnosed with GINEN, and immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression levels of relevant markers [synaptophysin (Syn), chromogranin A (CgA) and Ki-67]. Among the 74 cases with GINEN, there were 39 males and 35 females, with an average age of 56.
