Background: Oxidative stress, immune response, and inflammation play an important role in the occurrence and progression of gastric cancer (GC). This study is to develop a novel prognostic oxidative stress-immune-inflammation score (POSII score) and to explore the clinical value of the novel nomograms incorporating this factor in survival and recurrence risk.
Methods: This study included 3612 GC patients who underwent radical gastrectomy at three tertiary hospitals from 2009 to 2020.
Background: Spread through air spaces (STAS) is a well-established factor associated with poor oncological outcomes in patients undergoing surgery for solid lung adenocarcinoma. There could potentially be a disparity in iodine uptake between patients with positive and negative airway spread of solid lung adenocarcinoma.
Purpose: To explore the associations and find correlations of iodine uptake with STAS status in patients who underwent surgery for solid lung adenocarcinoma.
Background: The clinical value of incorporating lipid and inflammatory factors to predict long-term survival in patients with gastric cancer (GC) is unreported. This study aimed to investigate the clinical value of nomograms integrating the Circulating Lipid and Inflammation Risk Score (CLIRS) for predicting the long-term outcome of patients with GC.
Methods: A retrospective analysis included patients with GC who underwent radical resection at four tertiary medical centers.
Background: Research investigating the potential impact of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy cycles on patients with lymph node-negative gastric cancer following neoadjuvant chemotherapy is currently sparse. This study aims to explore the effect of adjuvant chemotherapy cycles on the prognosis of this specific patient group.
Patients And Methods: We analyzed clinicopathological data from patients at four institutions between 2010 and 2020.
Diatoms rely on fucoxanthin chlorophyll a/c-binding proteins (FCPs) for light harvesting and energy quenching under marine environments. Here we report two cryo-electron microscopic structures of photosystem I (PSI) with either 13 or five fucoxanthin chlorophyll a/c-binding protein Is (FCPIs) at 2.78 and 3.

However, the mechanism by which aspirin exerts its radiation sensitization effect at the in vivo level remains largely unclear. In this study, we employed Caenorhabditis elegans (C.

The aim of this study was to investigate the regulatory effect of saponins on TNF-α protein and its effect on intestinal metabolism in the model of intestinal inflammation induced by sodium dextran sulfate. Through cell culture and biochemical detection, appropriate cell lines were selected to simulate intestinal inflammatory environment, induce inflammatory response, observe cell morphological changes and growth status, and evaluate the protective effect of TNF-α protein on cells.

Here we engineered N. oceanica to synthesize the high-value carotenoid astaxanthin independent of high-light (HL) induction for achieving multifaceted benefits.

Their substantial biomass is linked to enhanced absorption of blue-green light underwater, facilitated by fucoxanthin chlorophyll (Chl) a/c-binding proteins (FCPs), which exhibit oligomeric diversity across diatom species. Using mild clear native PAGE analysis of solubilized thylakoid membranes, we displayed monomeric, dimeric, trimeric, tetrameric, and pentameric FCPs in diatoms.

Methods: The expression levels of RNA and protein were detected by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and western blot assays.
Background: The authors aimed to use preoperative computed tomography images to develop a radiomic nomogram to select patients who would benefit from spleen-preserving splenic hilar (No.10) lymphadenectomy (SPSHL).
Methods: A pooled analysis of three distinct prospective studies was performed.
Activatable near-infrared (NIR) imaging in the NIR-II range is crucial for deep tissue bioanalyte tracking. However, designing such probes remains challenging due to the limited availability of general chemical strategies. Here, we introduced a foundational platform for activatable probes, using analyte-triggered smart modulation of the π-conjugation system of a NIR-II-emitting rhodamine hybrid.

Such teeth are susceptible to caries, pulp infection or necrosis and periradicular lesion. The complex anatomy of this disease results in difficult treatment and a high rate of therapeutic failure.

Methods: The pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) were calculated, and p value is used to determine statistical significance. Sensitivity analysis was performed under three models (dominant, recessive and allele model), and the pooled ORs and 95%CI were calculated.
Marine photosynthetic dinoflagellates are a group of successful phytoplankton that can form red tides in the ocean and also symbiosis with corals. These features are closely related to the photosynthetic properties of dinoflagellates. We report here three structures of photosystem I (PSI)-chlorophylls (Chls) /-peridinin protein complex (PSI-AcpPCI) from two species of dinoflagellates by single-particle cryoelectron microscopy.

As traditional chemical control methods are ineffective against PVY, it is crucial to explore new control strategies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a crucial role in plant and animal defense responses to biotic and abiotic stresses.

The in-depth exploration and efficient utilization of resistance proteins have become crucial strategies for their control. However, current delivery methods for introducing foreign DNA suffer from host range limitations, low transformation efficiencies, tissue damage, or unavoidable DNA integration into the host genome.

We purified a photosystem II (PSII)-FCPII supercomplex and a trimeric FCP from Cyclotella meneghiniana (Cm) and solved their structures by cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). The structures reveal detailed organizations of monomeric, dimeric and trimeric FCP antennae, as well as distinct assemblies of Lhcx6_1 and dimeric FCPII-H in PSII core.

The kinase contains a regulatory Src homology 3 (SH3) domain that can specifically recognize proline-rich peptide segments on its partner protein surface. In this study, we systematically investigated the -substitution effect on the binding of an empirically designed proline-rich peptide p9 to nABL SH3 domain by integrating dynamics simulations, energetics calculations and fluorescence affinity assays.
