Pharmacokinetic studies were conducted on rats for protopine, corynoline, 7'-(3',4'-dihydroxyphenyl)-N-[(4-methoxyphenyl)-ethyl]propenamide, acetylcorynoline, and 8-oxocorynoline, five main active components from Corydalis bungeana Turcz (C. bungeana Turcz). An ultra high performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry method has been developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of the pharmacokinetic characteristics of these components in rat plasma.

Cell entry and susceptibility studies indicated that this virus can use ACE2 as a receptor and infect animal and human cell lines. Our results provide further evidence of the bat origin of the SARS-CoV and highlight the likelihood of future bat coronavirus emergence in humans.

Mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) lacking Hus1 fail to proliferate in vitro, but inactivation of p21 allows for the continued growth of Hus1-deficient cells, indicating the close connection between p21 and Hus1 cells. In this study, wild-type MEFs, Hus1(+/+)p21(-/-) MEFs and p21(-/-)Hus1(-/-) MEFs were used in a series of radiation-induced bystander effect experiments, the roles of p21 and Hus1 in the induction and transmission of radiation-induced damage signals were investigated.

These two Fano resonances are found to originate from different physical mechanisms. One is caused by the excitation of the inherent quadrupole dark mode supported by a single nanocross, and the other is attributed to the magnetic plasmon mode due to the generation of antiphase ring currents in adjacent fused tetramers.

Methods: Twenty-five white pigs were randomly and equally divided into 5 experimental groups. Five different type of narrow pedicle with different length-to-width ratio were employed, and each type of narrow pedicle was covered with 5 different size random flaps and which was classified into A, B, C, D and E for 5 groups.
Objective: To introduce the application of "tennis racket" flap with fascial pedicle on the healthy chest for radiation ulcer after surgical treatment of breast cancer.
Methods: The " tennis racket" flap was designed on the healthy chest along the cartilage with fascia pedicle near the sternum. 9 cases were treated.
Thermoelectric properties of semiconductors are intimately related to their electronic band structure, which can be engineered via chemical doping. Dopant Ga in the cage-structured skutterudite Co4Sb12 substitutes Sb sites while occupying the void sites. Combining quantitative scanning transmission electron microscopy and first-principles calculations, we show that Ga dual-site occupancy breaks the symmetry of the Sb-Sb network, splits the deep triply-degenerate conduction bands, and drives them downward to the band edge.

Here we report a dramatic enhancement of proximity exchange coupling in the MI/magnetic-TI EuS/Sb(2-x)V(x)Te3 hybrid heterostructure, where V doping is used to drive the TI (Sb2Te3) magnetic. We observe an artificial antiferromagneticlike structure near the MI-TI interface, which may account for the enhanced proximity coupling.

A completely new aspect and understanding of the conduction mechanism on conducting polymers is introduced, allowing the applicability of materials to be optimized. The charge-transport mechanism is explained by direct experimental evidence with a very well supported theoretical model.

Sialyltransferases (STs) catalyze the transfer of sialic acid residues to non-reducing oligosaccharide chains of proteins and lipids, using cytidine monophosphate N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-Neu5Ac) as the donor. Elevated sialyltransferase activity leads to overexpression of cell surface sialic acids and contributes to many disease developments, such as cancer and inflammation.

Exosomes can shuttle bioactive molecules including proteins, DNA, mRNA, as well as non-coding RNAs from one cell to another, leading to the exchange of genetic information and reprogramming of the recipient cells. Increasing evidence suggests that tumor cells release excessive amount of exosomes, which may influence tumor initiation, growth, progression, metastasis, and drug resistance.

Low-dose ionizing radiation (LDIR) can induce radio-resistance to following high dose radiation in various mammalian cells. The protective role of LDIR has been thought to be associated with the overall outcomes of cancer radiotherapy. NF-E2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a transcription factor that plays pivotal roles in maintaining cellular oxidative equilibrium.

However, the biological effect of nVO is not well understood, especially when affected by environmental factors or living organisms. For VO is an amphoteric oxide, we simulated pH's influence to nVO's physicochemical properties by exposure nVO in water of different pH values.

Whether the molecular mechanisms by which FAIM2 affects obesity are involved in lifestyle is unclear.

The positions and the relative amplitudes of two core-level peaks (L_{3} and L_{2}) of the V EELS spectrum show unambiguous change when the sample is cooled from room temperature to T=10 K. Magnetotransport and comparison of the measured and simulated EELS spectra confirm that these changes originate from the onset of FM order.
