Spontaneous hemoperitoneum in pregnancy is extremely rare but may cause severe hemorrhage, resulting in a high rate of mortality. We report a case of a primigravid woman who complained of middle-upper abdominal pain. She was admitted to our department at 24 + 6 weeks of fertilization gestation with a surgical history of endometriosis.

Investigating the Trajectories of Poor Vision in Children and Adolescents in Wuhan, China From 2016 to 2019: Prospective Cohort Study.

Background: Poor vision is a challenging public health problem among children and adolescents globally and in China. It is well-recognized that early onset of poor vision and progressing to moderate and severe poor vision will increase the risk of irreversible blinding complications. To achieve the national goal of poor vision control and prevention, it is essential to investigate and understand the development of poor vision among children and adolescents in China.

Background: As all kown, both hypovitaminosis D and insulin resistance (IR) have been linked to adiposity. However, the extent of adiposity's mediating influence on the hypovitaminosis D-IR relationship among adolescents remains to be elucidated. Additionally, the intricate effects of obesity and blood lipid profiles on IR are not yet fully understood.

Background: Previous studies have separately suggested a possible association between the vitamin exposure, blood biochemical indicators, and bone density. Our study aimed to investigate the relationship between vitamin exposure serum concentrations, blood biochemical indicator serum concentrations, and BMC and BMD using the NHANES 2017-2018 nutrient survey data. This population-based cross-sectional study aimed to explore these associations.

Effect of Temperature and Stress on Creep Behavior of (TiB + TiC + YO)/α-Ti Composite.

In this study, a (TiB + TiC + YO)/α-Ti composite was prepared by induction skull melting to investigate its creep behavior and microstructure evolution under different temperatures and stresses. The results show that the microstructure of the composite in the as-cast state is a basket-weave structure, and the main phase composition is α lamella, containing a small amount of β phase and equiaxed α phase. The creep life of the composite decreases significantly when the temperature is increased from 650 °C to 700 °C, and the steady-state creep rate is increased by 1 to 2 orders of magnitude.

FTDZOA: An Efficient and Robust FS Method with Multi-Strategy Assistance.

Feature selection (FS) is a pivotal technique in big data analytics, aimed at mitigating redundant information within datasets and optimizing computational resource utilization. This study introduces an enhanced zebra optimization algorithm (ZOA), termed FTDZOA, for superior feature dimensionality reduction. To address the challenges of ZOA, such as susceptibility to local optimal feature subsets, limited global search capabilities, and sluggish convergence when tackling FS problems, three strategies are integrated into the original ZOA to bolster its FS performance.

Intense simplified strategy for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in patients with severe hyperglycaemia: multicentre, open label, randomised trial.

Purpose: Continuous artificial aqueous humor drainage in the eyes of patients with glaucoma undergoing trabeculectomy likely exerts abnormal shear stress. However, it remains unknown how changes in intraocular pressure (IOP) can affect aqueous humor outflow (AHO).

Methods: Here, we induced and maintained low intraocular pressure (L-IOP) in healthy Sprague Dawley (SD) rats by puncturing their eyes using a tube (200-µm diameter) for 2 weeks.

Methods: The theoretical phase identified 43 articles for reviewing the definition and measurement of frailty.

Background: Subsyndromal symptomatic depression (SSD) is associated with an elevated risk of cognitive impairment in non-demented older adults. Given that hippocampal and middle temporal gyrus atrophy have been shown to cause SSD, our study aimed to investigate the effect of hippocampal volume on the association between SSD and cognitive impairment.

Methods: 338 non-demented older adults from the ADNI (Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative) cohort who underwent cognitive assessments, questionnaires on depressive symptoms and MRI brain were studied.

Upward social comparison and social anxiety among Chinese college students: a chain-mediation model of relative deprivation and rumination.

Background: Social anxiety has consistently emerged as a prominent manifestation of mental health issues among college students. Though the relationship between upward social comparison and social anxiety has been extensively addressed in previous literature, little attention has been paid to the underlying mechanisms at play.

Objective: The present study used a questionnaire survey to test whether upward social comparison may be associated with social anxiety in Chinese college students.

Methods: We searched for relevant RCTs in electronic databases, including MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and ClinicalTrials.gov (from inception to August 2023).

However, the unclear relationship between BVOCs and air pollutants in the under-canopy space limits the accuracy of air pollution control and the exploitation of forest healthcare functions. To clarify the variation of BVOCs in forest therapy bases, and their impacts on ozone (O) and fine particulate matter (PM) at nose height, total VOCs (TVOCs) in the forest were collected during typical sunny days, while air pollutants and meteorological factors were observed simultaneously.

The study investigated the effect of LFEF treatment on the quality and microbial composition of during storage at ice temperature. The results showed that the LFEF treatment significantly extended the shelf life of shrimp during storage at ice temperature.
