Phototherapy provides a noninvasive and spatiotemporal controllable paradigm to inhibit the evasion of the programmed cell death (PCD) of tumors. However, conventional photosensitizers (PSs) often induce a single PCD process, resulting in insufficient photodamage and severely impeding their application scopes. In this study, molecular engineering is conducted by adjusting electron donors to develop an aggregation-induced NIR-II emissive PS (DPITQ) for plasma membrane and mitochondria dual-targeted tumor therapy by evoking synergetic pyroptosis and apoptosis.

Herbaceous peony is a perennial root plant that likes light and is cold-resistant. During summer, high temperature and strong light intensity advance its entry into the leaf wilting stage, which limits the accumulation of nutrients and formation of strong buds and severely affects its growth and development the following year. In this study, the wild herbaceous peony species and two main cultivars, 'Zifengyu' and 'Hongfengyu', were subjected to slight shading and strong light environments in summer, and their effects on leaf senescence and endogenous hormone and polyamine contents were explored.

The clinical benefits of FLT3 inhibitors against acute myeloid leukemia (AML) have been limited by selectivity and resistance mutations. Thus, to identify FLT3 inhibitors possessing high selectivity and potency is of necessity. The authors used computational methods to systematically compare pocket similarity with 269 kinases.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable plasma cell malignancy, while CAR-T therapy offers a new direction for the treatment of MM. Recently, signaling lymphocytic activation molecule family 3 (CD229), a cell surface immune receptor belonging to the signaling lymphocyte activating molecule family (SLAMF), is emerging as a CAR-T therapeutic target in MM. However, a clear role of CD229 in MM remains elusive.

Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) mutation has been strongly associated with increased risk of relapse, and the irreversible covalent FLT3 inhibitors had the potential to overcome the drug-resistance. In this study, a series of simplified 4-(4-aminophenyl)-6-methylisoxazolo[3,4-b] pyridin-3-amine derivatives containing two types of Michael acceptors (vinyl sulfonamide, acrylamide) were conveniently synthesized to target FLT3 and its internal tandem duplications (ITD) mutants irreversibly. The kinase inhibitory activities showed that compound C14 displayed potent inhibition activities against FLT3 (IC = 256 nM) and FLT3-ITD by 73 % and 25.
