Background: High- and low-quality carbohydrate diets are linked to gut health. However, their specific relationship with constipation or diarrhea is unclear. This study uses 2005-2010 NHANES data to examine the relationship between carbohydrate quality and constipation and diarrhea, and to identify suitable populations for different carbohydrate diets.

Background: Previous studies have suggested an association between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and pancreatitis, including acute pancreatitis (AP) and chronic pancreatitis (CP). We aimed to examine the potential causal relationship between IBD and pancreatitis using the Mendelian randomization (MR) method.

Methods: We obtained data from genome-wide association studies (GWASs) in European individuals for IBD and its main subtypes, Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) (31,665 IBD cases, 13,768 UC cases, 17,897 CD cases and 33,977 controls).

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Zuojin formula (ZJF) is a well-known herbal medicine in Pharmacopoeia of China, which is widely used for gastritis. Modified Zuojin formula (MZJF) was adapted based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theories concerning gastric atrophy and dysplasia, along with extensive clinical experience, has been clinically employed to treat chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). However, the underlying mechanisms by which MZJF intervenes in CAG remain to be fully elucidated.

In medical diagnostics, the accurate classification and analysis of biomedical signals play a crucial role, particularly in the diagnosis of neurological disorders such as epilepsy. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, which represent the electrical activity of the brain, are fundamental in identifying epileptic seizures. However, challenges such as data scarcity and imbalance significantly hinder the development of robust diagnostic models.

A simple solution-phase route was developed for the large-scale synthesis of self-organized, closely packed ultralong single crystalline Se nanowire superstructures with diverse morphologies and macroscopic dimensions even extending over several millimeters. The hierarchical architectures of self-organized Se nanowires were formed by reducing H2SeO4 with a bisubstituted aniline, such as 3,5-dimethoxyaniline, 2,5-dimethoxyaniline, 2,6-dimethoxyaniline, and 2-methoxy-5-nitroaniline under solvothermal conditions. Scanning electron microscopy studies show 100% morphological yield and morphological uniformity of the self-organized hierarchical architectures.
