Objective: Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic cell death mechanism driven by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and iron. Its significance in inflammatory arthritis is well-established, but its role in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remains uncertain. This study aimed to clarify the mechanisms through which curcumin-mediated photodynamic therapy (CUR-PDT) triggers ferroptosis in RA fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs).

Eating is inherently social for humans. Yet, most neuroimaging studies of appetite and food-induced reward have focused on studying brain responses to food intake or viewing pictures of food alone. We used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to measure haemodynamic responses to "vicarious" feeding.

Methods: A network pharmacology research approach was used to predict potential core targets for SHC intervention in atherosclerosis. The predictions were subsequently validated through the implementation of animal experiments.
Introduction: The prevalence of osteoarthritis (OA), the most common chronic joint condition, is increasing due to the aging population and escalating obesity rates, leading to a significant impact on human health and well-being. Thus, analyzing the key targets of OA through bioinformatics can help discover new biomarkers to improve its diagnosis.
Methods: The microarray and RNA-seq results were screened from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.
Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at a high risk of developing secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT), which may cause organ dysfunction and increase patient mortality. The main clinical interventions for CKD-SHPT involve calcium supplements to boost absorption, but ineffective for some patients, and the reasons remain unclear. Here, CKD mice are divided into high and low groups based on intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels.

Mu-opioid receptor (MOR) functions as a part of complex opioid system and supports both homeostatic and hedonic control of eating behavior. Thirteen patients with AN and thirteen healthy controls (HC) were included in this study.

Autosis is a form of cell death that occurs when autophagy is excessive in cells, and it has been associated with cardiac IR damage. This study aimed to investigate the regulatory mechanism of circRNA CDR1AS on autosis in cardiomyocytes under IR.

Methods: This study is a retrospective study, a total of 120 patients with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome with CHD were randomly assigned to either a control group (aspirin, 100 mg, once daily) or an observation group (Danlou tablets, 1.5 g, three times daily; aspirin, 100 mg, once daily) at a 1:1 ratio.
Objective: Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway is reported to alleviate sleep anxiety in patients with sleep disorders. This study aimed at exploring the effect of escitalopram (ESC) on sleep anxiety in patients with cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) and sleep disorder and its correlation with the Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway.
Methods: In the present study, we enrolled 80 CSVD patients (disease group) and 40 healthy patients (control group) in our hospital.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained arrhythmia which brings a heavy burden to the lives and health of patients worldwide. Our earlier research documented cardiac conduction regulatory RNA (CCRR) as an antiarrhythmic lncRNA in heart failure. Here, we report that CCRR was decreased in atrial tissue after MI, MYZAP, and Nav1.

We made the first attempt to quantitatively explore the variation of parameters through a long-lasting aging test that simulates natural indoor exposure. Over a span of 431 days, we obtained a substantial dataset consisting of ten thousand data points.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the application value of Neuman's nursing model in perioperative nursing for patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy.
Method: A retrospective collection of data from breast cancer patients treated at Shanxi Bethune Hospital between January 2019 and December 2022 was conducted. Patients who received conventional nursing interventions were included in the conventional group.
IL1RL2 has been reported to be highly expressed in a variety of tumor types whereas its role in bladder cancer (BLCA) remains unclear. The aim of the present study was to explore the prognostic value of Il1RL2 in BLCA and its relationship with clinical pathological features. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was used to assess the levels of IL1RL2 expression in BLCA tissues and cells, which were validated by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting.

In the past few decades, great progress has been made in prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD). Fetal echocardiography is recognized as the main prenatal screening and diagnostic tool that can accurately detect approximately 85 % of fetal cardiac abnormalities. Evaluation of the fetal heart remains a major challenge in prenatal ultrasound screening and diagnosis due to fetal position, involuntary movement, small and complex fetal cardiac anatomy, maternal abdominal wall conditions, and lack of expertise in fetal echocardiography by some physicians engaged in obstetric ultrasound.

China released the most comprehensive list of key drug shortage monitoring varieties ever in 2022. We aim to analyze the attributes and characteristics of the medicines within the list to provide a reference for improving China's supply security of shortage drugs.

Methods: Clinical data from 262 patients treated at 3 medical centers in Shenzhen, China, between January 2018 and December 2021 were retrospectively collected. Risk factors and outcomes of initial liver injury post allo-HSCT were analyzed.
Psychopathy is characterized by antisocial behavior, poor behavioral control and lacking empathy, and structural alterations in the corresponding neural circuits. Molecular brain basis of psychopathy remains poorly characterized. Here we studied type 2 dopamine receptor (D2R) and mu-opioid receptor (MOR) availability in convicted violent offenders with high psychopathic traits (n = 11) and healthy matched controls (n = 17) using positron emission tomography (PET).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFDrug shortage is a global problem, and the development of government-enterprise cooperative stockpiles of drugs in shortage, combining physical and production capacity, has become one of the most important means of coping with drug shortages. However, existing studies have tended to overlook the fact that shortages of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) have become an important constraint on production capacity stockpiling and that the lack of incentives and provisions for coordination of benefits have led to a double marginal effect of joint stockpiling by government and enterprises of drugs in shortage. Accordingly, this study introduced the option contract to the drug supply system composed of government and pharmaceutical enterprises and used the subsidy of API storage in lieu as an important initiative to incentivize the reserve of APIs, to construct a model of shortage drug reserve under the government's leadership.
