Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) is a highly contagious disease caused by the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), which results in significant economic losses. PEDV infection causes severe damage to the midgut barrier in the small intestine. YBX3, an important protein in tight junctions, promotes epithelial cell proliferation.

In this study, we sequenced the genome of 62 pigs with a coverage depth of 10× to 20×, including 27 Sujiang and 35 founder breed pigs, and we collected 360 global pigs' genome sequence data from public databases including 39 Duroc pigs. We obtained a high-quality variant dataset of 365 Sujiang pigs by imputing the porcine 80 K single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) Beadchip to the whole-genome scale with a total of 422 pigs as a reference panel.

This breed is known for its prolificacy, desirable meat quality, and excellent adaptability to crude feed and local environments. In this study, we genotyped 105 Jiangquhai pigs from the state conservation farm using GeneSeek GGP Porcine 80K SNP chip, and explored the SNP data to unravel genetic diversity, evolutionary phylogeny, signatures of selection, and population structure of Jiangquhai pigs in a context of 33 global breeds.

In this study we modified the chicken Mx cDNA from the Ser631 to Asn631 genotype and transfected them into COS-I cells, chicken embryonic fibroblast (CEF) or NIH 3T3 cells. The Mx protein was mainly located at the cytoplasm.

SSCs were identified by alkaline phosphatase staining and SSEA-1 fluorescence. The EGFP gene was transfected into SSCs by three different methods: electroporation, liposome transfer and calcium acid phosphate precipitation.

Methods: We used PCR site-directed mutagenesis technique by which a single amino acid was reciprocally substituted G with A at position 2032bp of chicken Mx cDNA. Sequence analysis confirmed successful mutation from G to A at 2032bp of chicken Mx cDNA.
Background: Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) is expressed in a wide variety of epithelial cells including the prostate subglandular epithelia. Previous studies have suggested that CFTR mutations and polymorphisms may be associated with several cancers. Mutations and polymorphisms in the CFTR gene are responsible for cystic fibrosis (CF), and the incidence of prostate cancer in CF patients seemed to be lower than expected.
