Ovarian cancer is the most lethal malignancy affecting the female reproductive system. Pharmacological inhibitors targeting CDK4/6 have demonstrated promising efficacy across various cancer types. However, their clinical benefits in ovarian cancer patients fall short of expectations, with only a subset of patients experiencing these advantageous effects.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aims to see if combining hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with intravenous chemotherapy is more effective than intravenous chemotherapy alone for treating high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) in advanced stages.
  • Patients unsuitable for optimal surgery were split into two groups: one received HIPEC followed by intravenous chemotherapy, while the other received intravenous chemotherapy only.
  • Results showed both groups faced similar severe side effects, but the HIPEC group had a significantly better chemotherapy response and comparable surgical outcomes, indicating the approach is worth further study.

The ferric uptake regulator (Fur) is a global regulator that influences the expression of virulence genes in Klebsiella pneumoniae. Bioinformatics analysis suggests Fur may involve in iron acquisition via the identified regulatory box upstream of the yersiniabactin receptor gene fyuA. To observe the impact of the gene fyuA on the virulence of K.

Background/aim: The prognosis of ovarian cancer (OC) patients is especially poor for patients with chemotherapy resistance. Anlotinib, a novel multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has shown encouraging clinical efficacy in several tumor types. The aim of the present study was to examine the inhibitory efficacy and mechanism of anlotinib on the proliferation and chemosensitivity of OC cells.

Background: Currently, the standard treatment for locally advanced cervical cancer is concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT). Forty percent of patients present with disease recurrence. This study aims to investigate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) with weekly cisplatin and paclitaxel (TP) followed by CCRT.

Background: The frequent emergence of drug resistance to chemotherapy is a major obstacle for the treatment of ovarian cancer. There is a need for novel drugs to fulfill this challenge. Pyroptosis-inducing drugs can inhibit tumor growth.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a worldwide disease with worse survival. Our objective is to identify previously unrecognized prognostic factors to better evaluate disease progression. Seven GEO datasets were collected and analysed using R software, followed by KEGG enrichment analysis and TFs network construction.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the major pathogens causing nosocomial infections. The regulator of capsule synthesis (Rcs) system is a complex signal transduction pathway that is involved in the regulation of virulence factors of K. pneumoniae as an important transcriptional regulator.

Background: Currently, the standard treatment for locally advanced cervical cancer is concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT). The effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in advanced cervical cancer is controversial. Studies have shown that the addition of a weekly regimen of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by CCRT may be superior to a thrice-weekly regimen of NACT and CCRT.

Purpose: Ovarian cancer, manifested by malignant ascites, is the most lethal gynaecological cancer. Suspended ascites-derived spheroids may contribute to ovarian cancer metastasis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are also associated with ovarian cancer metastasis.

Background: Currently, there is no reliable blood-based marker to track tumor recurrence in endometrial cancer (EC) patients. Liquid biopsies, specifically, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) analysis emerged as a way to monitor tumor metastasis. The objective of this study was to examine the feasibility of ctDNA in recurrence surveillance and prognostic evaluation of high-risk EC.

The iron acquisition system is an essential virulence factor for human infection and is under tight regulatory control in a variety of pathogens. Ferric-uptake regulator (Fur) is one of Fe-responsive transcription factor that maintains iron homeostasis, and the regulator of capsule synthesis (Rcs) is known to regulate exopolysaccharide biosynthesis. We speculate the Rcs may involve in iron-acquisition given the identified regulator box in the upstream of that participated in the biosynthesis of enterobactin.

Background: Ovarian thecoma-fibroma groups (OTFG) are uncommon sex cord-stromal neoplasms. The objective of the study was to demonstrate clinical and sonographic features of OTFG and compare with surgical histopathology.

Methods: A total of 61 patients with surgically proven OTFG were enrolled in this retrospective study to demonstrate its clinical and sonographic features and to compare with pathological findings.

Objective: To study the effect of Chinese medicine, Angelica, injection on the expression of P-, E-selectin and anti-cardiolipin antibody in acute pulmonary embolism rats.

Methods: SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: normal control group(Group N), thromboembolism group (Group T), and treatment group of thromboembolism with angelica injection (Group TA). There were three time points in every group: 1 h, 4 h and 8 h.
