Introduction: Shoulder arthroplasty is mostly performed as an inpatient procedure. Same-day discharge arthroplasty has shown positive results in hip and knee surgery. Primary objective of this study was to investigate whether a safe and satisfactory same-day discharge (SDD) can be predicted with a set of easy to use predefined criteria, without increasing complications and re-admissions.

Next, to explore improvement in shoulder function and in patient-reported outcome measures.
Design: An international multicentre prospective cohort safety study.
Background: Patella resurfacing remains controversial in primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA).The aim of this study was to investigate if there was a difference in revision rate and reason for revision within 8 years after single brand primary cemented TKA with or without patella resurfacing, using data from the Dutch Arthroplasty Register.
Methods: All primary TKA surgeries with a posterior stabilized cemented primary NexGen®, between 2010 and 2013 with diagnosis osteoarthritis were analyzed (n = 5911).
Objectives: To identify predictive pathological factors for local recurrence (LR) and to study the impact of LR on survival in patients treated with glansectomy for penile squamous cell carcinoma (pSCC).
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively studied patients treated with glansectomy at international, high-volume reference centres. We analysed histopathological predictors of LR, stratified patients into risk groups based on the number of risk factors present, and studied the impact of LR on survival outcomes using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and stepwise Cox proportional hazards regression models.
Introduction: The use of reversed total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) has increased because of an increasing number of indications for this procedure and by ageing of the population. Usual postoperative care consists of immobilisation of the shoulder for a period of 2-6 weeks to allow healing of the subscapularis tendon and protection of the joint. However, new literature proved that reattachment of the subscapularis tendon is unnecessary.

Since treatment protocols are lacking there is a need to evaluate current practice. To evaluate the difference in prosthesis retention after an infected primary total hip replacement (THR) compared to PJI after hip prosthesis surgery performed for a hip fracture.

Dry needling is used by physiotherapists to treat pain and stiffness. In the Netherlands, there are no clear guidelines or contra-indications described for this treatment.

The purpose of our systematic review was to validate the predictive value of two-year RSA results on long-term survival of different types of primary total hip arthroplasty stems.
Methods: We systematically reviewed literature to determine the maximum total point motion (MTPM), distal migration and rotation of stem designs and correlated these values to survival rates for aseptic loosening of these specific stems in arthroplasty registries.
Background: Sexual abuse has been linked to strong effects on gastrointestinal health. Colonoscopy can provoke intense emotional reactions in patients with a sexual abuse history and may lead to avoidance of endoscopic procedures.
Objective: To determine whether care around colonoscopy needs adjustment for patients with sexual abuse experience, thereby exploring targets for the improvement of care around colonoscopic procedures.
Raman spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy are often used as complementary techniques that are well suited for the analysis of art objects because both techniques are fast, sensitive, and noninvasive and measurements can take place in situ. In most of these studies, both techniques are used separately, in the sense that the spectra are evaluated independently and single conclusions are obtained, considering both results. This paper presents a data fusion procedure for Raman and XRF data for the characterization of pigments used in porcelain cards.
