This study aims to compare the risk of sensitization between chicken TM and shrimp TM through affecting the intestinal epithelial barrier integrity and type 2 mucosal immune activation.
Methods: Epithelial activation and/or barrier effects upon exposure to 2-50 μg/mL chicken TM, shrimp TM or ovalbumin (OVA) as a control allergen, were studied using Caco-2, HT-29MTX, or HT-29 intestinal epithelial cells.

The aim of this study was to define the composition of microbiota and the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in samples of raw milk collected for 22 months between 2012 and 2014 originated from north-eastern region of Poland. The results revealed that the VOCs profile changed with respect to the season of milk collection, and milk collected in autumn was characterized by a higher content of acetic acid (C2), propionic acid (C3) and valeric acid (C5), whereas spring was characterized by a frequent presence of acetone (Ac), ethanol (Et) and ethyl acetate (EtAc). Here, we demonstrated that reducing ambient temperature attenuated diet-induced obesity (DIO), which was associated with increased iBAT thermogenesis and a plasma bile acid profile similar to that of germ-free mice.
